WhiskyBreath Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Pegula said that Keon was a coaching decision; but the buck should stop with Beane. That year aside, last year was anything but spectacular. The guys we picked in rounds 1-3 did not really show up. So, we got rid of McDermott, but Beane is still there and even got promoted. Not sure how that will pan out with this coming draft. 6 2 7 3 1 1 4 Quote
Captain Hindsight Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Beane did not get promoted. They clarified his role and the chain of command. Both Terry and Beane said this in their presser 5 1 5 Quote

Goin Breakdown Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Not to pile on but this could be discussed in many a thread made almost 2 weeks ago. The draft will be interesting though. Quote

By definition, that is a promotion. As far as draft picks, he has been good at mid round picks and sucks at top end picks. Everyone knows the picks, so it’s a waste to list them. Besides Josh and Dawkins, who was a top 1st or even 2nd rd pick and out played their contract? I guess Cook, and Bishop, but that’s it. 1 3 Quote
bubba2018 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 We need to cut/trade a lot of players and about half of the defense. This will create cap space and draft picks. That is how they have to do it. Trade a lot of guys if you have to IDGAF. 2 Quote

How about you give him an off-season without McDermott controlling the reigns then we see how his personnel decision making stacks up. 14 minutes ago, WhiskyBreath said: Maybe Hairston will emerge now that he is healthy. Kincaid, Torrence, Groot to name 3 others that are top 2 rd picks and are current starters with Groot on his first extension next season. Don’t ignore getting a pro bowl caliber OT in the 3rd rd in Brown PS Dawkins wasn’t a Beane pick. Either were White or Milano. 4 Quote

DrDawkinstein Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Between Cook, Torrence, and Bishop, the recent 2nd rounders are looking pretty solid. 2 6 Quote
SCBills Posted February 11 Posted February 11 (edited) Carter, Jackson, Bernard, Williams, Basham, Sanders are all guys we likely don’t draft now. That should made you feel slightly better as they’re the ones we’re all pretty frustrated with lately. Otherwise, aside from Keon & Elam, Beane has been pretty good for where we’ve been drafting. Let’s hope coaching/schematic change helps with this. Edited February 11 by SCBills 3 1 Quote
