I remembered this other, not as well known, show he starred in, What Would Diplo Do?

Watched Varsity Blues last night.  Held up much better than I expected even though it feels like it was from a completely different time(it was)

Hard for me to believe that movie is almost 30 years old now

I watched it when I was in high school when it came out..   only parts I remember were they saw one their teachers dancing at a strip club and the coach was a racist toward the RB.

 

 

Tbh it's the only place I remember James from.  The film just never hit the nostalgia meter with me over the years to watch it again.

I hadn't thought of that movie in forever but I remember what a big deal it was when it came out.  After James passed away it seems like alot of people went back and rewatched it and were saying good things about it holding up so that led me to watching it last night and it was fun.

 

As another poster already mentioned Angus is another awesome James Van Der Beek movie....I would assume most people associate him with Dawsons Creek the most though but yeaaa that's something I'll never watch😄
