Virgil Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Sadly, I saw this coming. He did not look good at the reunion. He had to film a video because he was unable to travel. He looked very weak and frail. RIP Dawson Quote
dhg Posted February 11 Posted February 11 RIP Not too familiar with his work, but that is way too young. Peace and love ✌️ 1 Quote
dpberr Posted February 11 Posted February 11 I'm sorry to hear this news. You'd see him post on IG and you could tell he was struggling but fighting the good fight best he knew how. Quote
Just Jack Posted February 11 Posted February 11 If you can find it streaming, check out Don't Trust The B word In Apartment 23. He plays himself in it. Hilarious series, it should have not been canceled. Quote

Buffalo716 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 My first thought was Joran van der Sloot The person who was the prime suspect in Natalie Holloway And then I snapped back... Van der is definitely why I connected it Quote
Wacka Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Never saw him in anything. Sad that he died so young. Quote

I just read aN article on him and doctors claiming the cancer is happening now in those younger than 50 and believe that it has a lot to do with sugar intake, mainly sugar drinks such as pop. also read where they had to set up a gofundme and sell off a lot of his and family stuff to pay for the medical bills while trying to save his life. sad. RIP Quote

RIP Sugary drinks has been a major nemesis of mine. Not a huge pop drinker but was a heavy Gatorade guy for awhile and then moved on to Vitamin Water and Body Armors(still not good for you) and things like sweetened iced teas and lemonades. I have made a huge effort over the last couple years to primarily just drink water and I am in a good spot with it right now. I still drink Orange Juice in the morning more than I should because I don't drink coffee but even with that I have been doing more water in the mornings too. 1 Quote

RIP Gained research has actually shown HPV is the leading candidate. Sugar is all too often an easy target for anything. Hpv is a leading cause of throat/oral cancer and HPV. Scholar.google.com is much better as a resource than TammyHerbalDoc or LukeKnowsHealth6969420. Quote

I'm sure the links to cancer are numerous but I was posting what the article stated about drinking too much pop or any sugar drinks. Amid growing concern, researchers have zeroed in on dietary patterns that may influence advanced disease. A new study suggests that consuming at least one sugary soda or candy every day could be linked specifically to late-stage colon cancer, the hardest-to-treat form. Dr. Emma Schatoff, a medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center who led the research, described what doctors were seeing in younger patients. The death of James Van Der Beek at age 48 stunned fans and reignited urgent conversations about colorectal cancer in younger adults. Once considered a disease primarily affecting older populations, colon cancer has been steadily rising among people under 50. Since the 1990s, early-onset cases have surged by 50 percent, and projections suggest rates could double between 2010 and 2030. Colorectal cancer now ranks as the fourth most common cancer in the United States and the second-leading cause of cancer deaths. The American Cancer Society estimates that 154,270 Americans will be diagnosed this year, and 52,900 will die. In the UK, more than 44,000 cases are diagnosed annually, with over 16,800 deaths each year. The Daily Drink Doctors Link To The Cancer That Killed James Van Der Beek As noted in my message above this is a Yahoo article. Well it is linking to other sources it is not a peer reviewed article or study. Meta-analysis among other things that allow for full review are far more important. The framing of this article is more hysterical that it is based on principled fact. The studies of sugar relating to diets began mostly in the 80s but has largely taken off in the last 12 years. There was an article I read about 4 years ago that discussed the upcoming prominence of sugar to cancer studies relating to cholesterol as well and that the human body is not designed for our modern-day diets of hyper concentration. It's focus was on high lipid and high carbohydrate intakes that are prevalent among our global population. Much of the early activity in these studies was begun by dentists interestingly. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0261561421003678 That is a peer reviewed article that reads easy and well. There are hypothesis out there that the high sugar intakes are also causing the obesity issues, which is obvious, but the obesity, sedentary lifestyle, and girth of the average population is a comorbidity of cancer. Essentially, let me rephrase that.. being fat and addicted to sugar has a lot of problems all together than just having cancer. Being fat raises estrogen levels, lowers the immunity of response of the body, and generally allows poor health which could allow for other factors such as cancer to be introduced and flourish. I agree that cancer sucks, people eat too much sugar. However this is a multi-factorial issue not boiling down to just sugar but many things. Look at the average BMI of our population, factor in HPV running rampant, in the overall direction of our world when it comes to healthcare: people only want treatments for conditions they already have versus practice the discipline it takes to be healthy. 2 Quote

I have lost both family and friends 🤬 cancer. I even had it removed from both legs last year and although early detection/treatment with squamous cell carcinoma there is a 40% chance it will resurface. not the form of cancer comparable to the more serious cancers but cancer none the less and it sucks. my cancer was not due to diet, but to too much sun exposure. back in the day a good tan was cool. didn't take heed of the risks of too much exposure. at the end of the day cancer sucks and in my late stage in life I just try to avoid what I know isn't good for intake. knowing the risks trying to extend things for a few more years I try to eat and drink what is good for me. I did a complete 180 last year when I had blood work done, so changes were a must. too much good information out there now where one can at least make a good run at life knowing what is good, reading the ingredients and staying as clear as one can of bad 💩 with what we know and are becoming aware of in these times. 1 Quote
