Super odd situation with almost no official information. Very curious to see who took Nancy and why. Does not feel like a professional ransom job to me. No proof of life and immediate involvement of the media (no one who kidnaps someone wants a lot of press, they want money), amongst other things.

Additionally, you would have needed to consistently case the residence to pull it off in the peak of darkness. This is a semi-rural area where the homes are on 1-2 acre lots, and everything in the desert tries to poke or kill you. They would have needed hours upon hours of surveillance work. That type of surveillance work would have been seen in a smaller community. Anybody walking their dog would realize someone has been sitting in their car in front of the same house.

Which makes me think… what is this case then? My best guess is a murder by someone close to the family, why - I have no clue. That person then tried to either make it look like a kidnapping by making their pedestrian attempt at a cover up via the ransom letter. Or, someone completely uninvolved was taking advantage of the situation by demanding ransom and just hoping the family paid them some bitcoin.

Why no thread??

Police just released Ring doorbell photo of masked kidnapper. Slight resemblance to @ExiledInIllinois

@Figster should have solved this by now.

Post updates. Is she alive?

How much money is the daughter bringing in with all of this is what my suspicious mind is asking.

Somethings not right here...

What do you mean how much is the daughter bringing in? Brining in from where?  Unreal, like Savannah needs any more money.

Nice analysis. Allegedly, ransom demand in “Bitcoin”. Untraceable?? Need “proof she’s alive”.

That the FBI took this long to figure out is 1 of two things:

1) they knew who it was and couldn't find them. The FBI has ways to find people and do things we will never realize.

2) this was an entirely well planned organizing group that completely disappeared.

Apparently, your scanner link is in Annie Guthrie’s neighborhood. Maybe leading back to son in law, as they thought from the beginning?

No idea. I have the app and it alerted me that there's a bunch of traffic on the scanner related to this. I haven't followed the story.

I have not been paying super close attention, but I hope you are not fearing a knock on the door any more than usual.

It seems like a crazy and unusual thing.

From afar, with 1/1000000th of the information the authorities have, my best guess it is a "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" type of thing.  Inside job, probably family, trying to extort money from the celebrity, but the victim unexpectedly resisted and perished well before the sun came up.  Ditched her somewhere and trying to lay low. The ransom notes were either from jokers trying to take advantage or a hail Mary attempt by the kidnappers.

The odds of her being alive at this point, with seeming little to no contact and attempt to resolve a ransom type situation is very remote

This person/people will 100% be caught.

After looking at how well she is doing financially, I agree.

Haven't been paying attention to the story.
