Old Coot Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Maye was undone by his OL. The Seahawks feasted on the Pats' LT until the Pats adjusted and then blitzed on the right and finally collapsed pocket after pocket with a 4 man rush. Maye gets rattled when the blitz gets home. Remember our second game vs the Pats when we came out blitzing in the 2d half and shut down the Pats' offense until we went to soft coverage to protect the lead. Given a clean pocket Maye get the Pats' offense going. I'm betting that Vrabel will fix this right soon. maye will be a fly in our ointment for years to come. We should not underestimate him. 5 1 8 5 4 9 2 Quote

Genius he's not. He road the Titans from playoff capable to dirt before he was let go by them. 3 2 Quote

TUA was always a fly in our ointment when healthy. No one is going to take them lightly. They’ll be more than motivated to spend and bring in WRs and DE game wreckers. 1 1 Quote

You don't need to be a genius to see that the Pats' OL needs fixing. If I can see that then anyone can. My post about Maye being let down is not too popular on this forum. Who knew? I get that Maye is hated by a fair number on this forum. I'm not one of them. I've always believed in clear-eyed analysis but then that's so last century. 'Nuff said. I don’t see an easy fix…Diggs and Morgan Moses are on the downswing and Will Campbell who they invested a very early pick in looks awful. Lowe is also terrible and they really don’t have any depth anywhere. I really don’t think they’re far off from that chiefs team that probably would’ve won 8 or 9 games with a full season of mahomes Really think they’re gonna come back down to earth a bit next year 6 3 Quote

I posted about Starr a few days ago... Bob Griese was also a game manager... but both in the HOF because they played solid, mistake-free football. 1 Quote

I think you gotta go in expecting the #1 defense to batter your guys in the trenches and whenever you get an opportunity you have to make the play. Maye missed on too many throws he had to have in this one. I think my knock on maye is he doesn’t step up in those kind of situations and I just don’t think you’re gonna win a Super Bowl without gutting out an ugly one when it’s a fistfight in the trenches. He’s great when things are on schedule and guys are getting schemed open but that’s kinda meaningless when you gotta go through a couple great defenses to win a Super Bowl 1 2 1 Quote

Maye has been figured out - he cannot play against cover 6 or pressure. The bills new D is going to eat him alive next year - they lucked into a SB abd the Seahawks trounced this - Darnold only played ok - if he hits a couple of the open deep shots game would have been over at half time also - look at hawks D - this is why McDermott needed to go his passive soft reactive D is why the bills have not hit to a SB 4 8 3 Quote
jerryaldini Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) Terrible playoffs this year all the way around with bad QB play. The league will never want another playoff without league face Patrick Mahomes for the next decade. Edited February 9 by jerryaldini 1 2 Quote
