This Pats team might be the most lucky team in NFL history.  Every bounce and even the weather has gone there way.

It drives me a little crazy that I've spent my whole life starved just to see my team in the SB, while their fans are kind of "ho hum" about being there yet again.  I mean, I know they're excited, but it's more just "oh, cool - we're in the SB again."  What a different reality.

The one that really hurt was the loss to the Giants. The Bills were the better team and should have won. The games against the Redskins and Cowboys the Bills were not better than those teams although they did have a shot in the 2nd Cowboys game until things fell apart in the second half.

To be fair to the Bills, while they did choke, they would've won the three playoff games New England had by an average of like 20 points. That team has gotten insanely lucky all year with the way things shook out for them.

That’s why you don’t lose to Miami. That’s actually my entire point. When the sky was falling people get stymied after puzzling regular season missteps…they do it because they are protecting down the road issues. You can’t have annual write offs where you lose to bad teams. That’s how you don’t get the 1 seed. Or the easier path. Those games matter. You don’t just sit guys that can help you or rotate guys in that don’t belong constantly. You don’t treat the regular season games like the nba and play with your food. Thats why we had the more difficult path

I've never started a topic here, but I was just out for 1 .5 mile walk with my dog in Boston (where I've lived for 41 years) -- and, well, nothing to report. Not a single Pats flag; not a Pats sign or lawn ornament; nobody wearing Pats gear shuffling around the snow in the park ... just nothing. I was shopping at Wegmans here yesterday -- same thing. What do they say about trees falling in the forest?

I think I'll take the wife to a movie tonight to avoid even turning on that &@$# game.

I lived outside of the Boston for almost five years which coincided with their success in the 2000’s

Boston was always a baseball town first.

Basketball second.

NFL was always a distant 3rd but it definitely got a jolt during the Brady years

Between 2004-2011 every Boston sports team (including the  Bruins) won a championship within a seven year span.   The Red Sox and Pats won’t multiple.

Maybe it’s just me but I do feel that Boston fans are spoiled from this winning.  Even as a team like the Red Sox flail or Celtics struggle to win a chanpionship, I’m not seeing the “we are cursed” energy or the excitement for winning it all like there was back when I lived there.

Not too say they don’t care if they win.   But from my visits and talking to people who still live there it’s very much “been there done that.”

I believe they know how lucky they are to be there & also know that they are about to get their asses handed to them ! They no longer have the GOAT leading the team & can see what most of us do that they are god but not that good just yet so rather than run their mouths they are anticipating .

If by some odd chance they win you will never here the end of it but I think they will be humbled today .

this comment may be controversial. I don't have serious beef with the city of Boston itself.  Due to all the colleges universities and conservatories there the ratio of mass holes to city dwellers is low. At least that was my experience

So I do like Boston. Now the new England team now that is a totally different kettle of fish

A couple of years ago I was on a construction site in Rhode Island, wearing my Bills hard hat. Several other trades would make comments on it, and my response was typically the same, "why isn't anyone wearing any Pats* gear?" No answer from anyone when I would say that.

That is right.  Lose to Atlanta and Miami a few days after they give up on their Season and you do not get an easy path to the Super Bowl.

Oh yeah, I agree 100% there

I don't think the Bills defense would have managed Herbert as well as the Pats, and we have seen how the Texans D gives Josh headaches.

The Chargers and Texans in Buffalo for a playoff game would be hopeless.

That and both franchises have won Super Bowls within a relatively recent time frame. Anytime there's a team that's never won one before it gives a little extra juice

It's the Seahawks revenge game for not running Lunch at the 1 yard line and throwing that game sealing INT to lose it late in the 4th.

I lived there for a few years.  Loved it.  It's a fun city/college town, and I remember the people being really cool overall.  Though, I've lived in quite a few places, and people are pretty much people in my experience, and generally cool.

I think online fans give that fanbase more of a reputation for being obnoxious & arrogant than they probably deserve.  Most of the Pats fans I know in life are generally pretty humble & grateful about the success.

Yeah, maybe fair when it comes to the Chargers.

We would have had to play the Texans in Houston.

I really hope today's game doesnt play out that way. Similar storyline with the Seahawks looking very strong and expected to wipe out the Pats
