BuffaloBillyG Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Probably nothing, but Pagano served as Jim Leonard's position coach at one time. If the Bills are looking to bring in a guy with former HC experience to the staff and Pagano wants to stay active (He's 65 and was retired before going to work in Baltimore) he may be one to keep an eye on. 8 1 Quote

So did he ask to leave or did team fire him? If fired then could sign here no issues. If his choice, then gets more complicated. But even then if givne title of Assistant HC could get around that I'd imagine. 1 Quote

gonzo1105 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Yea I’m for it. Carmichael the veteran for Brady, Pagano senior advisor would make sense more 3-4 experienced help. That’s if he wants to keep going 1 2 Quote

I believe he's been dismissed as he's not a Minter guy. 4 minutes ago, gonzo1105 said: Yea I’m for it. He could help Jim on defense as well as Brady with day to day HC advice. Kind of a 2 for 1 special. 3 1 1 Quote

Desert Bills Fan Posted February 7 Posted February 7 (edited) Last year the Bills added several more assistants than usual. I thought at the time , it was a good way for Pegula to use some extra money for an advantage (no restrictions on number of coaches or salaries)… this seems like another one of those ways a rich owner, willing to spend, could get an advantage….go get him ! If there was one good part to that team it was his Defense, and its Pro Bowl QB 😉. Now they'll screw up the Defense, because it's the Browns. I hear McD isn't doing anything. Quote

The Bills should have hired Schwartz as their HC instead of Rex at least we would have known that the defense would have stayed in good shape then if things wouldn't have went well with him they could have brought in others but you never know then we may not have gotten Beane & Josh would heave went elsewhere !! 1 1 1 Quote

I agree with the idea that if an owner wanted to try to increase his/hers chances of winning by spending more, he could direct that money towards coaching. That said, he'd have to weigh that against other budget line items such as scouting, analytics, sports science, etc. Specific to Pegula, at under $7 billion he's about 16th in net worth among owners and the Bills are in the bottom 5 in revenue right now.
