That's really about as good as the Jets could have hoped for. Look, I like Frank and he had some success years ago. But he's hardly an offensive master mind and about as far away from an innovator as you can get. Old school offense.

Speaking of the Jets.

There is a thread on the Jets forum that Mougey wants out (rumor) but Evan and Tiki brought it up yesterday on WFAN. The link in on WFAN's website from yesterday. As I said this is a rumor but given who the owner is maybe there is some truth to it. Woody is known to meddle. He overruled JD and Saleh a few years back to bring Rodgers to NY when it was reported in the media that they both wanted Carr at the time.

Reich seems to pop up in some rough organizations.  He always adds professionalism and knowledge but it's a heavy lift in NY right now.

He built himself a career winning that superbowl against the Pats with a backup qb. I think this is a good hire for the jets though. He has head coaching experience and has alot of experience with offense obviously. We'll see how much it pays off tho

If the Jets miss the playoffs in each of the next two seasons, they will tie Buffalo's playoff drought (and Cleveland's).

IF?

The nomadic life of an NFL coach continues. It takes a certain breed to live that lifestyle, and it has to take a toll on the family.

I’ve always liked Frank, and I hope he doesn’t fail so miserably he can’t find a new job after the next crash and burn with the Jets.

When Glenn gets fired, I wonder if the Jets go for Tomlin or McDermott as their next HC.

Why would either take the job in that perpetual dumpster fire ?

McDermott took the Bills job when they were a perpetual dumpster fire at the time.

Right place, right time. Doug Pederson was the play caller and guru of that backup QB. Reich hasnt been able to do anything on his own as a coach.

1. The other team in that big market just hired a guy for $20M/yr, and those contracts are guaranteed.

2. All coaches are arrogant in a "I can do a better job than anyone else" way

3. There are only 32 of these jobs in the entire world.
