Mad dog asked which felt worse the missed pass to Knox or the misfire to shakir 😭

When asked about the Cooks thing, Josh said from his vantage point he thought it was a catch.

Why ask? That BS is over and behind us.

And what did Josh say?

He said to dog you’re making my blood boil.  not much else he could say to that.  Thought about those misses for many days.

Is this a SiriusXM thing?

Yes. Maddog's show during SB week is unrivaled. Today he's had Josh, Riggins, Gannon so far. He always has current players and excellent retired players as well.  To me it's a must listen.

The Shakir one was on Josh.  However, you could see the defenders give up on the play immediately.  There's no way of knowing if he would have scored or gotten the first down, even though he did have blockers in front of him.

I don't blame Josh for the Knox throw.  Could he have made it, yes. Was there also a hand in his face that forced him to rush it a little and adjust his throwing angle?  Also yes.  Was it also a really tight window that I think many QB's miss the throw on?  Yes.  Was that really the best Brady could scheme up as an easy throw?  My concern going into next season

Exactly, and I'm glad you said this. We'll never know what would have happened there, but that could EASILY have been a 1-2 yard gain. The defensive players stopped immediately with the whistle.

I still think about those misses every day (multiple times).

I know. Josh handled it well. Maddog said he was getting static from his producer about asking him that, but Maddog was right when he said his audience would get on him if he didn't ask.

Fun listen.  You can tell they all like him.  Always fun to see Josh and Nick interact.  They did ask Josh about the stigma of not getting to a SB and the expectations this past playoffs of not facing the other big QBs.

Josh said he’s rooting for Darnold to win it.

Here’s the follow up piece.  All good things, and some things from Nick I wonder about too sometimes:

I loved this.  Obviously I'm biased - but Allen is a truly likable player & person.  And his answers about feeling pressure to win a SB, or how it was this year without the Chiefs or Ravens in the playoffs, were really perfect.

And we're so close to that heartbreaking loss still. JA, to me, has that quality you want in a top QB - a short memory.  You can tell he's already looking forward & getting right back up on that horse again.

I loved it too and I agree Josh is one of a kind and the absolute best in these interviews but you can see the pain is still there when he answers the questions about the SB this year. Love that guy. No way does he want to see the pats and diggs win it this year.

The thing that's amazing about Josh is he always gives the right answer.  He is a media teams dream. And while a lot of players do that, he always comes across and genuine and sincere. There's a reason he's in so many commercials now. He's just so likeable.

I love Josh but the excuses need to stop.

He needs to finish a game when he has a chance to win with a TD.

Those endings are the differences between a great QB and a legend.

He has to finish the story.  Too many games are ending with Josh falling in the clutch
