The broadcasting industry as a whole has been circling the drain ever since the FCC allowed companies like iHeart, Cumulus and Audacy to own thousands of stations. Debt service is killing them. Station values have cratered. 6 minutes ago, MikePJ76 said: If they had any guts they would hire some talented people locally to fill that spot. I can’t imagine they have the revenue for it however. LOL, not a f****g chance! 10am - 3pm will be syndicated shows. Edited February 3 by PromoTheRobot 4 1 1 Quote

I'm very lucky in that regard to start my day before the morning programming, but im stuck with OBL for most of my drive home. I don't really want an entire station pushing team propaganda. Quote
BUFFALOTONE Posted February 3 Posted February 3 This is wild. I live in So FLA and listen to WGR every day. The only time I tune out is from 12-3. Sabres Live and OBD is terrible radio, I do not know how Chris Brown has that job and Tasker is just stuck in 1990. When the games are on, I cannot listen to play by play on Audacy as I am out of the area, never understood this - thought it was the whole point of the radio over internet. One poster hit it on the head, the same 3-4 people call Joe and Jeremy every day. I wonder what they do for a living that they can sit on hold and just blather about the dumbest crap. Even my 13-year-old son knows Mo from NJ and just turn the radio down for 3 minutes. Quote

In addition, starting Monday, Feb. 9, One Bills Live will be distributed in-house. The traditional radio broadcast, currently on WGR-AM 550 and Rochester affiliate 950-AM The Fan, will transition to streaming exclusively on BuffaloBills.com and THE BILLS APP from 1-3 p.m. every weekday. One Bills Live will continue to be simulcast on MSG Western New York. "The delivery of media content has changed dramatically over the years. We believe the model of in-house production, distribution, and sales will better position the organization to provide access to our fans as well as allow us to further engage with the local business community," said Pete Guelli, Bills President of Business Operations.' If anything WGR may go back to the "Coach Dickerson" style of talk show. Basically 24/7 crapping on both teams. Hate sells. 1 Quote

Let’s see if they talk with their tail between their legs. I did think Schein asked some good questions to Beane this week. And Beane answered well 1 Quote

gomper Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Hopefully this will be the beginning of the end of GR in its current incarnation. You think it's bad now? Wait until they have reduced access and these idiots actually have to be broadcasters, which Bulldog definitely is not. It will be beyond painful. Quote
FLFan Posted February 3 Posted February 3 43 minutes ago, RkFast said: WGR will be fine. Even if they dont carry the games, themselves. WGR wont be banned from talking about the Bills and Sabres so the content from all the shows except 1-3 does not change at all. What changes is the level of access to information that they will have and the level of cooperation they currently receive in producing team related content. They will be strictly outsiders. I think this is huge for WGR. 1 Quote
TheFunPolice Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Pegula absolutely despises the local media. All of it. He has said as much in the past, that they are too negative and ought to "support" the teams more. Likely why he loves Beane and could be why Beane has acted the way he has. Good way to get on the Boss's good side. Quote

Like posted before, if you can't be the official Bills or Sabres station you become their #1 critic. Nothing easier in the world than getting sports fans angry. 1 Quote
