The wrath of Beane

And Terry. After they treated him how they did after that presser, did they honestly think they were keeping either one of his teams business?  This was literally "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" or FAAFO. They did, and now they are.

Yeah, gotta think of a radio station clowns the Owner and GM too much they aren't going to be the teams official radio station long. I'm wondering if they keep playing nice over at WGR or risk their press passes and go scorched Earth.

Literally everyone that listened to that presser has criticized Pegula.  I don't think Sal is losing his place on the team plane to be the sideline reporter for the comments he made.

This was something in the works already.

I highly doubt what happened in the last two weeks has anything to do with this. A shift like this takes MONTHS to plan and execute.

Is this something other teams are moving toward typically?  If so, then I would definitely agree

Pretty sure they work for the Bills, not WGR.

Good question.  Since I don't typically listen to other teams local radio shows, I couldn't tell you.

But the fact that they are doing it for both the sabres and bills kind of makes it seem like a Guelle move to cut out the local AM radio to keep money in house.

That sucks for me locally, great for out of town people.

Like being able to watch the game with WGR and little latency with over the air.  Streaming is going to be way off.

Bills games are already blacked out on WGR for out of towners.  So now it sounds like I won't get all anything else anymore either.  :(

This is pretty massive news, not sure how much longer WGR will last.

What happens with a guy like Sal.  Will he be a sideline reporter for the Bills now?  Pretty sure he works for WGR.

He does.

Wonder who calls the games?  Probably won’t change I guess.

and they can collect the advertising money instead of GR.

Shtupp will be combining Awaken 180 and My Pajamagram commercials.  "Sell sell sell, you guys!  We got revenue we have to generate!"

I'd be curious to know if the streaming on youtube/twitch had any impact on the decision honestly.  I know the ads they run on those are basically a drop in an ocean but it's probably cutting into their(Pegula's) ad revenue by people not listening on AM/Audacy.

WGR will be fine. Even if they dont carry the games, themselves. WGR wont be banned from talking about the Bills and Sabres so the content from all the shows except 1-3 does not change at all.
