This is about 2 moved shows available on the Bills site and MSG, plus the Bills are producing their own radio broadcast for games which will be available on an undetermined stations and it sounds like their site too.

Wgr will fill those gaps with more Bills and Sabres talk.

https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/sports/football/nfl/bills/2026/02/04/buffalo-bills-sabres-end-wgr-deal-control-of-radio-broadcasts/88509565007/

From the cited article in the D&C:

“The games will still be available on traditional radio, just haven’t decided on the outlets as of yet,” Guelli said. “For instance in Rochester, we will talk to 950-AM about continuing. Not sure in Buffalo. We could air on WGR or a different station in Buffalo.”

Purely a 'hot take' on my part, but I think the "not sure in Buffalo" remark brought a smile to a few at One Bills Drive.

this is from a D&C article:

On Bills’ game broadcasts, Brown is a Bills employee and Guelli thinks he’s one of the best in the business so he will remain. Analyst Eric Wood and sideline reporter Sal Capaccio are not team employees, so their status is unknown. Capaccio, in particular, is a WGR employee so it’s unknown if that would impact his role on the broadcasts.

I certainly would not be shocked if Sal was offered an opportunity with the Bills.  Who knows if he would take it.

Choosing between an NFL franchise and an AM radio station should be an easy choice in 2026

He's been the sideline reporter for over 10 years. What else would he do concerning the Bills ? Buscaglia's got the Athletic covered.

BN is set.

100% There actually could be a role for Sal on both the Bills and Sabres productions.  Plus whatever else they need him for.

The Bills never filled the “reporter” vacancy once Chris Brown became PBP.  My guess is they decided it wanted necessary and wanted to save money.   But now they’ll be getting a larger portion of the ad revenue and rights fees, so perhaps the’ll consider that.

Like all things, I’m sure it comes down to money.  Bills might be able to match or exceed whatever Sal gets paid on WGR, but he also does a number of things outside of his regular duties live appearances, Always Game Day in Buffalo, TSE, etc.  I remember reading that radio DJ’s supplement a good part of their salary doing that.

If the Bills made him exclusive, they’d have to pay him enough to give that up

Scott Fybush has run an informative and balanced website for years regarding radio in the Northeast U.S. and Eastern Canada for well over 25 years.  No hype, just facts.

Wow, you know about Scott? I thought he was only known inside the industry. I know him personally. Great guy.

Two things he reported that I didn't know. One is Good Karma assuming production of radio. Two is the push to get Sabres radio affiliates in Canada.

I was reading NorthEast Radio Watch long before the turn of the century, long before I found TBD-TSW.  He is a valuable contributor to a number of media communities on the web.

I don’t know if this is the end of OBL or if Chris and Steve  are just going to be on vacation

OBL is streaming from the Bills official app and on MSG. It is still the the same show, just no longer on WGR

I'm sure he's a nice guy and all but whenever Paul Hamilton comes on WGR in the morning and I'm driving to work, I have to turn the channel.  He's very knowledgeable but his voice just puts me to sleep and I can't have that while I'm in the car...😴

Paul hamilton and the other guy former player for the sabres ruined radio hockey talk for me. The dichotomy of the game being played at high speed vs slow casual listless conversation is drastic.

I don't mind listening to him, but yes...he has a very sedative voice. His articles on the WGR website, however, are horrible. He can talk, but he can't write. They're choppy, lack flow and have really bad transitions. it takes me twice as long to read the article because I have to rewrite it in my head.

Paul hamilton

Saw him pull a total dick move at an open practice at HSBC maybe 15 years ago. Place was pretty much empty, some young dad is sitting with his young kid in row behind Sabres players bench. Hamilton waddles down, can’t get by guy to get through to go down through bench and in towards locker room, tells the guy he has to move. Not sure what he said but guy got up and moved a couple rows back.
