I don't listen to their sports shows

But if I'm driving during a game I listen on the radio.. heck I've had the radio on and muted the TV back in van millers time even if it didn't sync

I like listening to post game pressers on the radio

If it goes completely off air that sucks because I'm not a big app guy... I don't want to download an app just to listen to a football game

Radio is kind of a dinosaur at this point.. Social media seems to be where the money is at..

I wonder if the coming demise of AM radio factored in? Car manufacturers are reportedly going to stop including it as a feature in the very near future.

It didn’t come in my current car… I had to do a bunch of research when I got in the first time and couldn’t figure out how to get to the AM radio.

This is better news than the Leonhard hiring imo

I agree.  I have been sick of the morning and afternoon crews for quite a while.  The game day coverage is largely atrocious.  They will now have even less real information to offer.  I do like Sal.  I find his segments to be more informative than WGRs other in house crap, although he will now be on the outside in as well now.

So WGR told their staff today that they will now be “the voice of the fan”.  I wish them luck with that.  Personally, I am not that interested in the voice of the fan. I do want a source of information on the teams I love, and some related entertainment and analysis, but I frankly do not need them to give me the “voice of the fan”.  Sayonara.

This is probably bc they're getting the new stadium next year and want more control. So probably always part of their plan. But with all that has happened and the spat Beane had with Jeremy White which came up on the press conference, it's just poor timing. Any other off season would probably have been better from a PR standpoint.

That sucks for me locally, great for out of town people.

Like being able to watch the game with WGR and little latency with over the air.  Streaming is going to be way off.

I do the same  ...

It’s not WGR’s fault that Beane is a hothead and Terry bombed the McD press conference

Doesn't matter the circumstances.

When you own something you can do whatever the hell you basically want and Pegula did just that.  He owes WGR nothing and will go on making even more money without them.

That sounds right!

It is incredible how negative the Buffalo News coverage was of both teams.

They weren't even that bad when you compare it to big cities like New York and Philly

Exactly! He'll put a lot of this behind a paywall. Cause Terry's favorite Bills are green. Go Dollar Bills!

While I want information about the teams, I also don't want everything is rainbows and sunshine.

I will say is I will miss Sabres live. Liked how they talk about everything going on in the NHL

What if your driving through WNY and your phone is dead? And it's game time?

You literally won't be able to Access the game at all?

Some of the old timers here have to have a real nostalgia about listening to van miller as the voice... Listening on the radio is not preferred to television but I still find a calm enjoyment from it

Most cars have satellite radio now. That's how I listen to games.

Guess I’m defending them saying it’s a format that peaked 20 years ago, radio in general that is. So much more now providing  alternatives, be it informative, lighthearted, serious. Radio is a dinosaur.

…..forgot comedic, which Schopp so wittingly flails at.

I do like radio. I don’t listen to Schopp and Bulldog much. Jeremy and Joe….every show talks about wide receivers. Every Damn Show. They got their 15 minutes and are trying to stretch the hell out of it.

So Terry fully embraced state controlled media … I’m not at all surprised that this happened in this day and age, but I’m sure Terry and Beane’s thin skin and pettiness played a role in this … maybe WGR will give Sullivan a time slot to hammer Terry’s teams when necessary 😂

Its not fancy at all. Its $20 a month and is well worth it for the NFL Network, NHL Network and all the music options

I predict Sal C will be leaving WGR550. He already works for the Bills in some capacity, so it makes sense that he'd take a full time with the Bills. Probably the right spot for him too, he's always been a little bit in a pickle working for the Bills but also having to be "objective" on the Bills working for WGR.

Time will tell
