SoonerBillsFan Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Good for him! He is right, its not his job to appease the fanbase with a hire, he has to go with his gut. He veted 9 candidates, and came back to Brady again then chose him. Who the heck knows how it will work out, he understands that if things dont turn around, he is gone. 9 13 1 Quote

I’ve always said that Beane is an open book. Whether right or wrong, he will tell you what’s going on. 4 6 Quote
Alphadawg7 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 A lot of Bills fans dont understand what we have in Beane and how much worse it could, and would, likely be without him. 12 1 1 1 11 5 1 1 Quote

We will all see now, how much of it was McDermott, or Beane that was holding this team back. Let's see what type of players we target in FA and the draft. 4 1 9 1 Quote

Tre , Dion , Milano ,poyer and Hyde we're here before him That's four of our all pros and our other consistent pro bowler Beane is good and he was here for Josh Allen... Why can't we just say it's been 9 years and we needed a new voice instead of pinning it on the head coach and saying the GM is blameless There's a reason why guys like Chucky were defending McDermott it's because they know he did a good job We could need to go in a New direction without blasting the coach who got four all pros before beane was here and helped develop them Historically in the NFL it is easier to find a general manager than a good coach . Especially when you have the best quarterback in the world Don't need the prop one up and push the other down... The entire organization didn't get it done but now Brandon Bean is left and he has to turn the corner... And I do believe he can Edited February 3 by Buffalo716 6 1 4 3 2 Quote
Virgil Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Very similar attitude on the WGR interview about receiver. If he's wrong, it'll be his job and he will have wasted the last few years of Josh's dual threat prime. 4 4 4 Quote

I agree with this. Even though I’ve hated him since that WGR interview for being so prideful. I’ve always liked how he works the cap and fills needs. Just needs to hit more on impact players in the draft and no more garbage contracts to JAG WRs. He seems to be back to old school Beane, just needs some good talent evaluators in his ear Quote
Hawaii50 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I've been thinking that it's rather ironic that if McDermott could have set his ego aside and hired a good/independent defense coordinator, he would probably still have his job. Buffalo, probably would also have a couple Super Bowl wins. 1 10 Quote
Thrivefourfive Posted February 3 Posted February 3 He’s very with it. Seems to understand that part of it—His ass. How many head coach hires has he made? Yeah.. we’ll see. I ain’t looking back so no worries here. I just wish he’d stop glazing the roster quality, the woh-me take on the cap, whiffing in FA. Gets a pass for draft picks, because I’m an optimist who chooses to believe that Beane made all the good picks and McDermott made every single terrible one 😂 Quote

QB Bills Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Honestly, Beane needs to stop doing media. Seems like he can't take all the heat that's come his way this season and his insecurity is showing with this fake tough guy act. Find some game changers or gtfo and stop wasting the career of the only elite player you did happen to bring in. Eight years ago, for the record. 2 2 2 3 4 2 Quote

McD is a very good coach, but it was time. 1 2 Quote

Brandon Beane can still be better at his job both can be true We drafted or brought on 4 all pros on defense while McDermott was here and Brandon wasn't and Sean coach them up Needing to go on a new direction and Brandon Bean being better both can be what we need I also think with a fire lit he can get it done Edited February 3 by Buffalo716 Quote

LEBills Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Genuine question, do other team’s GMs do this much media? Quote

Joe Marino Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Quote “And to me? ***** the outside. It’s about the right selection for this team. If we win, they’ll love it. If I’m wrong, the moving company will be at my house." Said the exact same thing about the receiving core on WGR before last season… 1 Quote

And I do believe he can McDermott also gave us the ammunition to get Josh Allen, so he should get half the credit for that pick. We've moved on. It's a new regime in Buffalo. That's fine. We don't have to pretend like McDermott was some terrible coach and the sole person to blame for any bad thing that ever happened here. 2 5 1 6 Quote
