Forgive my ignorance, but is the hockey rink smaller in the Olympics?

From what I've heard, this go around it's standard NHL size.

Pumped for this one...

U.S. looks a little flat.

Well, we Do have a Boston goalie in there... that 2nd goal was embarrassing. Still, not worried..

There we go..

Feels wrong rooting for Eichel. Maybe my least favorite athlete ever, not counting off field related stuff with other guys.

I know but we aren't rooting for a team, we are rooting for the USA... took me a bit to adjust to that I'll admit.

Hope Swayman is enjoying the game today because I suspect it will be his last.

If they are going to lose a game, let it be this one, just for the memes.

He's not a top line center and if Matthews wasn't such a puss, Eichel wouldn't be up there.

And their two top line wingers have the combined IQ of a rutabaga.

Meanwhile Tage Thompson is buried on the 3rd line for no good reason and resting Hellebuyck is going to end up making their path to the final harder than Canada's.

Trying to be positive but this is a hard team to root for. :(

Yeah I dont care that much and I can't stand about half the team. As Simon noted, they are difficult to root for regardless of the sweater they wear.

FWIW the roster is soft, especially on the back end.

Exactly, you said everything I didn’t want to say 😆 US hockey is soft and really needs to find a new identity. I’m not just referring to the national team, but the program as a whole. A strong US hockey program would make the NHL better as well.

That was pretty funny. How long has this guy been curling and he ignores the rules?

Guy did a bizzaro double down. He said Sweden is the one in the wrong for filming him cheating. This guy ain’t bright.

Great sports weekend so far... men's hockey yesterday and today, along with the 500 (only race I watch all year long). Going to be close if the 500 will finish today, heavy weather is moving in on that one.

Will have them both on but the race will be muted once the puck drops... perfect day here... open windows, breezy winds, large red wine soaked beef roast in the crockpot with small red spuds, garlic cloves, onions and brussel sprouts. Place smells great..

Let's take down the Germans and then the real games begin, go USA..

Its supposed to be bigger.  But Italy screwed that up so the rink is 3 feet shorter and only a few inches wider than NHL ice.

What its supposed to be:  The National Hockey League (NHL) rink’s ice surface is 200 feet long and 85 feet wide, while the International Rink’s is 197 feet long and 98.4 feet wide.

We are dominating Germany.  The refs have nothing to do with it.

It's here or there I suppose but we weren't dominating most of the 1st. Just win baby and then we get a bit of time off to recover and regenerate.

Its a hockey game.  Nobody dominates every shift.  Shots are 2:1 in favor of the US and outside of a few rush opportunities Germany isn't generating anything quality on offense.
