Warriorspikes51 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 (edited) AFC East WR mentioned is either Wilson or Waddle. Very likely Waddle Perhaps Beane revisits that close to the draft? Miami has a new GM I believe although I would prefer we aim higher than Waddle. It was reported supposedly Miami wanted our 2026 1st but Beane had offered our 2027 1st. Beane claims there was never a counter offer if we could get Waddle for a 2nd, I’d do that Some of Beane’s comments are a bit surprising to me and more transparent than usual. IMO he knows he has to make big moves Edited February 2 by Warriorspikes51 10 1 4 Quote
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Definitely some CYA about the WR situation but it could be true 4 1 7 2 Quote
ngbills Posted February 2 Posted February 2 With any of the WR's are we in the super bowl this week? I think yes. We at least win that Denver game. Highly confident we could have beat the Pats the following week. 5 1 1 9 Quote
buffblue Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Kind of difficult to buy what he is selling about the WR position at this point. He's lost all credibility until proven otherwise after years of mismanagement and the WGR meltdown. 9 2 7 1 6 8 1 2 Quote
Gregg Posted February 2 Posted February 2 This should be an interesting offseason with FA and the draft. Need upgrades at WR 1 and WR 2. Need to fix the defense especially the front 7. 2 minutes ago, buffblue said: Kind of difficult to buy what he is selling about the WR position at this point. We better not get sold - New coach, takes time to adjust blah blah blah. 1 1 Quote
QB Bills Posted February 2 Posted February 2 On one hand, I respect the candidness that he's showing. It's rare to see the curtain pulled back in pro sports. On the other, who knows what really happened? Beane is well aware of the fire he's been under this season and it doesn't seem like a coincidence that everything he says in public sounds like damage control. The truth is, he's drafted one elite player in 8 years. He's lucky that player ended up being as good as he is or he'd have been out of a job a long time ago. 3 2 1 1 Quote
somnus00 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Whether it reflects reality or not, it seems clear that the teams messaging is, "McDermott was holding back roster building, and his routine was leading to injuries." We'll never know for sure, but results on the field will shed some light on the situation. Either way, Beane knows he's on the hot seat 1 2 Quote

His draft record is much better than your ilk give him credit for. Go ahead, shout “Elam” at the top of your lungs. Think McD had any input in that? I am truly sick and tired of the fans who think they know what’s in Beane’s head or the ins and outs of what he has done to try and improve this roster. 7 5 4 10 2 Quote

Okay, so we're giving Beane credit for Benford, and McDermott the blame for Elam. On that note, I also want to blame McDermott for this horribly cold weather we've been having, but I hear Beane has a plan to turn it around by May. 1 15 2 Quote
Einstein's Dog Posted February 2 Posted February 2 It was a rough year for Beane - from the PED boys, to the lack of WR in a wide open year, to the McD split, and to taking part in the disaster of a news conference with Pegula. All signs point to J Jefferson. Beane knew it before hiring the new coach. Beane gets JJ in here and all the above stuff is past noise, the future of an Allen/JJ/Cook offense spells an offensive juggernaut. Impossible not to be excited with that. 2 1 2 Quote

Everyone could see how upbeat and honestly happy he was at Joe Brady's Presser. I haven't seen him that loose in a long time. 2 4 1 Quote

But you seem to interpret what they said as the roster doesn't need to be improved. Clearly they didn't mean that - Pegula threw Coleman under the bus. They are trying to frame the narrative as McD drove a defensive heavy focus (could be true). Now they want to collaborate on an offensive focus -which coincidentally will help prop up their franchise QB and generate a ton of excitement. 1 1 Quote

Draft time will be interesting at least Following the 2024 season, Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane and owner Terry Pegula expressed confidence that the team already possesses a "championship-caliber" or "Super Bowl" roster. Despite this belief, they fired head coach Sean McDermott to find a new voice, aiming to get over the playoff hump, Yahoo Sports 2026. Confidence in Roster: Following the Nov. 4 trade deadline, Beane affirmed his belief that the current roster was capable of winning a championship. just sayin... 1 1 Quote
