Orlando Buffalo Posted February 3 Posted February 3 If we are moving to a 3-4 the biggest impact on the roster we could add is a dominant nose tackle. Besides Walker I don't see much hope on our current roster of a anchor in the middle. The WR room can obviously be improved but with Josh it is truly not problem 1A Quote

Benjamin Albright was on with Greg Thompset of cover 1, and said that Deone walker is perfect for this style 3-4 that Denver runs. Our biggest need, will likely be LB. The guy I'm more worried about as a fit is Oliver. 2 Quote

Most of this website is not in the Buffalo community and that's something you can't downplay If achievement is only measured by the Super bowl trophy that means Jim Kelly and Bruce and Thurman are losers.. it means Marv Levy is a loser Warren Moon never went to a Super bowl is a loser.. that means Nick foles is better than Warren Moon Those are things that I'm not willing to just say x + y = z I don't kick a man while he's down... The bills had five Hall of famers and didn't win a Super bowl in the 90s this roster is not even close to that Kick a man when he’s down? Sean McDermott is getting paid what, $5m next year to sit on his arse and watch wrestling videos, and then be the belle of the ball in the retread coaching carousel in 2027? He is fine. 2 2 Quote

Thank you coach Tuesday putting it like that makes it sound better but I just wish people would have more appreciation because of what we were pre-2017 the entire organization and now we're respected Go bills! The hook and ladder plays. Executed a single time in two games in critical down and distance situations late in the games, late in the season. Put in place as something novel for the playoffs. Unique because they were executed closer behind the line of scrimmage and center of the field then the typical design of this playcall. As a result, it was executed much more quickly than normal and successful in getting a long first down. A unique play installed at the end of the season, meant for a specific, critical situation late in playoff games to keep/take control of the game. That's the mentality I want to see from our coaches. That's the mentality I never saw from Sean with the defense. You want to correctly argue the defense has consistently been short on game-changing talent? I would argue that makes this type of extra coaching effort and creativity critical in helping your defense seize control late in playoff games. And after 8 playoff seasons, this deficit remained unchanging and undeniable. Quote

The WR room can obviously be improved but with Josh it is truly not problem 1A There's been a lot of discussion on this on podcasts, and Brady has also recently commented on it, saying most defenses have variation today and essentially play versions of both 3-4 and 4-3. This will not be an old school 3-4 with space eating NT, on the contrary, odd/switching fronts will make use of penetrating DL. On latest Lockedin podcast both Marino and Ostrosky said they think the new scheme will actually make better use of many players on the roster. One other interesting comment that was made was that it will be easier to draft for this D and get contributers in later rounds vs the very specific reqs for McDs D (they also mentioned less thinking should result in players playing faster and more instinctively) Edited February 3 by stevewin Quote
