Virgil Posted January 30 Posted January 30 (edited) In all likelihood, the Cowboys will slap the full exclusive tag on Pickens, but they also have cap concerns as well as a defense to take care of. I could possibly see Jerry get enticed by the idea of someone having to give up two first round picks to pry Pickens away from them. So, with a fairly barren WR FA market and us picking at 26, where even a trade up might not get us a slam dunk WR, would you be willing to give up two firsts for Pickens? To me, I'm testing the waters on Olave, AJ Brown, and Waddle first. IF (again, notice the caps) Jefferson is available, I think he's also going for a min of two 1st round picks. But yes, I would do that for either Jefferson and Pickens if I can't get Waddle, Brown, or Olave. It's a lot to give up, but I can then say I gave Josh the weapon in his remaining dual threat prime years and Brady everything he needed to succeed on offense. There would be zero excuses left. I know the headcase concerns with Pickens, but I also saw what he did in some of those games this season. It's a tough sell for me as well, but I really think we need to be going all-in at receiver for Josh right now. Also, we are in fully offseason mode now, so kick rocks Edited January 30 by Virgil 1 3 1 2 1 8 Quote

Let's assume we go WR in the first round, we are using a #1 for that anyways with much less guarantee of performance. So to me, what's another #1 a year away to have our guy? Quote
RobbRiddick Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I say no. He was great in Dallas but he comes across as a lunatic. One first I would but not 2. For Jefferson I’d give up 2 firsts and my sister 1 2 6 1 Quote

The Wiz Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I'd sooner spend a first rounder on Slim Pickens. 7 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Abso-freaking-luty NOT Guy fell off a cliff late in the season. I'd rather use those same first rounders in a package and move up for a guy like Tate. At least then it's also cost controlled. Remember in addition to those two first...ya gotta pay the man too. 2 2 Quote

Pickens is a big risk for multiple picks cuz he could get disgruntled in a hurry. Dallas aired it out a bunch and he seemed to get pissed down the stretch this year still Quote
gonzo1105 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I suspect the Bills will be in the trade market this offseason for a WR. one thing to note that this is a good WR class full of future #2 and # 3 WRs but the 2027 WR class is absolutely epic. If we do switch to a 3-4 defense this year. I fully expect the Bills to accumulate as many draft picks as they can get to make that transition as quickly as possible. It is a very good year for 3-4 prospects in all areas so it might be another defensive heavy draft which I actually wouldn’t mind 4 1 Quote
H2o Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Absolutely not. Good player, but this guy is subject to completely flip the script once that gtd $$$$$ hits his bank account. Quote

Kirby Jackson Posted January 30 Posted January 30 It’s a good topic @Virgil. I like the order in that you attacked. I’d start by trying to get Jefferson regardless of the cost. That’s probably an extreme longshot. From there you call around to other number 1 guys that may only cost 1 first. I’d probably then move onto young guys like MHJ and BTJ next. If you traded for one of them you could still turn around and sign Doubs or Evans or Pittman when he shakes free. Pickens as a FA is a no brainer. Pickens at 2 firsts AND a big contract needs to be considered but not my top choice. 3 2 Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 No. If we are giving up TWO 1sts it's for Justin Jefferson 4 1 Quote
MikePJ76 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 The OP called the Raiders a real organization and said the bills are a mess. Now he wants to give up two 1st round picks for a guy who can absolutely not be trusted in any way. 1 Quote
Low Positive Posted January 30 Posted January 30 (edited) Based on talent alone, yes. But you just can't bring that cancer into a locker room. I would like the Bills to not prioritize culture as much in the Brady era as they did with McDermott, but there has to be a limit. Edited January 30 by Low Positive Quote

I would like to think Josh and the culture would help, but Diggs eventually found his way out. It's tough for me because Pickens was an absolute game changer in Dallas, even when Lamb was hurt. There's no doubt in my mind we are playing in the SB if we had him this season. 1 Quote
