AlCowlingsTaxiService Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Unsure if I’d be happy or not, but what is this obsession with bringing back former players? 6 2 1 1 Quote

He is a great defensive coacH his rankings in total defense as Wisconsins DC 2017 - 1st 2018 - 41st 2019 - 8th 2020 - 5th 2022 - 10th Then he gets the the Broncos in 2024: 2024: 7th best opponent passer rating, 7th lowest yards per attempt, gave up 12th most pass yards per game but on the 5th most pass attempts. Surtain wins DPOY. All vast improvements over the Broncos 23 defense. 2025; 5th best opponent passer rating, 9th fewest passing yards per game on the 6th most pass attempts, 2nd best yards per attempt behind only Seattle. 10th fewest passing first downs per game. He was an experienced college DC, briefly a college HC. He will be a HC soon. May as well let him get out from behind Vance Joseph for a year or two with us. Edited January 27 by LEBills 10 4 Quote

QB Bills Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Football nerds have loved this guy for a few years now. Not getting my hopes up though. Awaiting the Schefter tweet about signing Babich to a 5 year extension. 1 2 7 Quote

Not just a former player ... but a really good defensive mind. Jim Leonhard is a respected defensive coach, currently serving as Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Pass Game Coordinator for the Denver Broncos as of 2025. Renowned for a highly successful six-year tenure as defensive coordinator at Wisconsin (2017–2022) and an interim head coach role, he also held roles at Illinois (2023) following a 10-year NFL playing career. 1 2 3 Quote

NickelCity Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I can get on board with this. I can't tell how much of that is flavored by nostalgia, but I know he's always been highly regarded for his football mind. Quote
HappyDays Posted January 27 Author Posted January 27 Text from Joe Marino: Quote What's up, Bills Mafia!? Well how about this... Adam Schefter is reporting that Denver Broncos pass game coordinator Jim Leonhard is expected to be a leading candidate to become the next DC in Buffalo. Former Bills player, who you might remember from 2005-2007. He is VERY VERY different than McDermott. Think a mix of odd and even fronts. Blitzes. Man coverage. An ultra-aggressive style. WOULD LOVE IT! Stay tuned. GO BILLS! 11 3 4 Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Oh man... he prefers a 3-4 Defense. A few moves and we could pull this off! 1 1 2 1 Quote
