gonzo1105 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I wanted to take a look at some of the possible available Defensive Coordinators: With the likelihood of us hiring a young offensive minded coach I wanted to take a look at some of the guys available after coaching firings and maybe a couple of guys that could get a promotion. who would you prefer 1. Bobby Babich Bills DC 2. Anthony Weaver Dolphins DC 3. Teryl Austin Steelers DC 4. Shane Bowen Giants DC 5. Zach Orr Ravens DC 6. Patrick Graham Raiders DC 7. Johnathan Gannon Former AZ Head Coach 8. Dennard Wilson Titans DC 9. Jim Schwartz Browns DC 10. Raheem Morris Former Atlanta HC These are the 10 guys who lost their jobs or will lose their jobs in this cycle with their former teams Other guys available Matt Eberflus Former Cowboys DC Gus Bradley Currently with SF Nick Sorensen former SF DC Steve Wilks former Jets DC Coaches in line for promotion: Jim Leonard Broncos DPGC Daronte Jones Vikings DPGC Leslie Frazier Seahawks AHC Karl Scott Seahawks DPGC Aubrey Pleasant Rams DPGC Obviously a lot of names. Tell me your favorite guys or add a name of a guy I missed but the DC might make or break our Super Bowl chances 2 3 6 Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted January 25 Posted January 25 We need someone who attacks, can scheme and make adjustments quickly. Some innovation in playcalling and for God sake, run a dang stunt! 5 1 Quote

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Throw Wade Phillips on there for good measure. I know he’s almost 80 but he’s still got it. One if the greatest defensive minds of all time. Lots of Buffalo ties. He still wants to coach. I know it’s unrealistic but let’s get him on the board. He’s not taking any snaps, it doesn’t bother me that he’s older 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Give me Pleasant, working under any of the 3 Ram HC candidates and I'm a happy fella. Quote
Victory Formation Posted January 25 Posted January 25 No to Babich, might as well have kept McD if that's what you wanted to do... 7 8 2 Quote

Wade must have hated him as a kid Quote
RyanC883 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Schwartz seems to have been successful at all 3 DC stops. 7 minutes ago, ExiledInIllinois said: Overrated... Bills had the #1 pass D in League. Wrap your brains 🧠 around that FACT Jack! I was thinking more run stopping and pass rush. 2 Quote

Babich shouldn’t be on the list if so and Schwartz should be way out in front as the top DC candidate. Quote

gobills404 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Of the ones you listed Weaver, Schwartz, Pleasant, and Leonhard (he’s also asst. HC) are my favorites. Also worth noting that Mike Macdonald is the defensive play caller in Seattle, so if we hired Kubiak maybe their DC Aden Durde would view becoming the play caller in Buffalo as a step up in his career? 3 1 Quote

No it’s not a ranking I literally just posted the 10 HC openings and who their Defensive Coordinators were or if they were a Defensive HC . I’m trying to give people an idea of who’s available 3 minutes ago, gobills404 said: Of the ones you listed Weaver, Schwartz, Pleasant, and Leonhard (he’s also asst. HC) are my favorites. It would be a lateral move and we would need permission to hire him despite the fact he doesn’t call plays 1 Quote
MasterStrategist Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I'd take Raheem Morris in a heartbeat. Always liked how he called his defense and ability to adjust. 1 Quote
