Saint Doug Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I don’t care if he’s the second coming of Christ, a defensive coach should not hired when you have Josh Allen as QB. We need an interchangeable part as our DC, not a system we become wedded to. 1 Quote

I know most people want an offensive guy but I think he’s the best overall choice. He’s coached the Rams to a top 10 defense this year with solid but not elite talent. He’s also coached every position on the defense under multiple coordinator’s. Chris is known for his adaptability, and flexible schemes that adjust to his players strengths. He’s also good at connecting with players. Not to mention it’s in his blood. He would obviously need to bring in a strong offensive coordinator, but with his connections around the league, I’m sure that wouldn’t be a problem. https://www.therams.com/news/digest-instruct-adapt-rams-dc-chris-shula-took-from-mentors-raheem-morris-brandon-staley-giff-smith-wade-phillips-creating-unique-defensive-structure I would argue that the Rams defense does have elite talent but those players aren't household names yet. Kobe Turner, Jared Verse, Byron Young, Kam Curl, Kamren Kitchens, Quentin Lake, and Nate Landman are all guys who are upper echelon but don't have the reputations yet. Several of these guys are free agents and will become among the highest paid players at their position in a couple of months. Quote
