And honestly Rivers can make suggestions on DC as well.

And I hear that. I just don’t think he leaves Payton. I think, if he isn’t offered a HC job, he will stay in Denver and marinate. When he left playing he said the only guy he wanted to work for was Sean Payton.

If you hire Daboll as HC and Webb as OC, Webb is probably gone next year.

If Kubiak is hired he is calling the plays. Why would Webb leave Sean Payton to come here and not call plays in a new system under a rookie HC? He’d stay with Payton.

I’m beating the dead horse, but Webb is the most obvious HC move to me. Bring Kingsbury as an OC and maybe grab Rivers to work with the QB. Bring in Anthony Lynn as run game coordinator/running back/assistant head coach. That’s a dream team and you are really supporting Josh. And if you are worried about Josh and Webb being friends, in this scenario you have other guys working directly with Josh while Webb runs the show. You are surrounding him with offensive minds. That’s step one. Then find a way to get weapons. Hire Lou Aranumo as DC and let him run that side of the ball.

Why would Webb do that? He doesn’t need to. He is already a HC candidate and if he comes here under an offensive HC, he won’t get credit if successful (at least more than he has). Why wouldn’t he go somewhere like Baltimore under Minter (for example)? He could run an offense there instead of just having a different version of what he has now under a less accomplished coach than Sean Payton. He either gets a HC job, or maybe goes somewhere to run an offense or just stays.

I don't think we're talking about Mike McDaniel. He said "McDaniels" which given that and that he was talking about Belichick, i'm assuming he's speaking about Josh McDaniels.

Ah ok.  That makes sense.  No way to steal him

Agree with everything accept the ownership angle. Pegula is preferable to Mark Davis, though Brady might provide a nice buffer there for the new coach.

Another thing about the Bills job is that you're walking into a high-pressure situation in regard to expectations. Super Bowl or bust, pretty much.

After the press conference, I think Davis/Brady are seen in a better light than Pegula.  Jmo

And we should have our pick of who we want.  I dont think any of us wanted the picks by Baltimore or Pittsburgh, and I still feel Harbaugh amd Stefnanski are wishing they had waited about 2 days before signing.

I still feel our HC is coaching in the NFCCG tomorrow, winner or looser. And with his knowledge/ Relationship with Josh, I hope we can find a sport for Rivers (QB coach?)

Ill light this fuse and run...anyone up for giving Josh McDaniels another HC shot?  And before you start shooting at me, 😁,  I have always wondered what Josh could do in his offense. And it would weaken NE.

Not trying to be argumentative, but if it’s the best job , why is every media talking head , multiple prior players , ex coaches like gruden and arians all said it was a bad firing and the two coaches mentioned said they wouldn’t touch the job?  Arian’s , when asked by Kay Adams which job was more desirable, chose Baltimore.  He said in his experience having to answer to a guy like Beane , almost never works as opposed to gm / coach being hand in hand and both answering to the owner. He went on further to say there are not many good offensive coaches who could do this HC/ oc type job. He said dropping McD for our oc makes little sense.   So bills fan , don’t get out over your skis.

The organization matters and pegulas terrible performance just made it harder. He lied about Coleman , everyone knows Sean didn’t override Beane to pick this bust of a receiver ( prove me wrong , he’s immature and his skill set was ok in college , but I’ve never er seen someone flail their arms like they are being attacked by killer bees ).  The perception is Beane will throw anyone under the bus. You can attack me all you want , I don’t care. I’m just saying what the perception is by many outside Buffalo.   All I’m saying is don’t be so sure the next coming of Mcvay is going to happen.  People are taking other jobs , such as Pittsburgh, so obviously this is not the most desirable job; other factors are in play and don’t be naive in thinking the new corporate structure won’t play a role in candidate’s decisions.  Just having Josh isn’t the only factor, the organization looks questionable when your owner swears thus was a great , sb worthy roster when we watched every game and if you’re honest you know the roster was filled with issues.

Go check out Arian’s on Kay Adams, watch grudens reaction. These guys aren’t in play so nothing prevents them from honesty.   Mcdaniel hasn’t talked about leaving the pats , why would he right now?  Most likely it’s someone from the rams or Seahawks , but they are more under center type play callers , and they don’t have head coaching experience. Time will tell, but like arians said , Pegula has forgotten where the franchise was just 8 years ago , and it’s easy to drop back to that. I’m just saying , it’s not all peaches and cream coming here despite Josh. Plenty of roster holes and now a POWER SHIFT is obvious despite Pegula saying that can’t happen under him!  Hey 70k people signed a petition ( I did not) because they dont like how Beane was promoted , not just to support Mcd imo, so there is turmoil.  Who wants to walk into the fire?  🔥😊

It's clear Bills fans see our team differently than the rest of the NFL world sees our team.

Outside of Josh Allen & James Cook, this is a very lackluster roster... a roster that has no cap space to make major fixes, and has a defense that was assembled to play 1 way for 9 years.

Will a new coach get the same out of veterans like Tre White, Joey Bosa, Gabe Davis, etc?  Or will we be go through a Bengals-like stretch where the offense is fine but the D is terrible?

The division no longer goes through Buffalo, so it's not like we can take solace in soft competition either.

This hire NEEDS to hit. We don't have forever with Josh Allen. We can't afford to waste more prime years rebuilding or being surpassed by others in our division & conference. Who Beane hires & how they perform will determine if this team ever wins a SB with Allen.

Im warming to a Rivers/Webb combo.

Now here is the thing, does he want to stay with Sean Payton or coach in Buffalo with Josh Allen?

Im sure he said  before he knew this job would be open he wanted to stay with Peyton.

My reservation to him becoming HC is the fact he has never been a coordinator calling plays.  But...there are a handful who have made the switch to become a successful, bypassing coordinator status.  The number one in my opinion?

Andy Reid.

Webb as HC/ Playcaller with Rivers as DC (assisting in Game planning) and QB coach.

Yes... yes let's go with that.

That fire is media and some fanbase driven.  Look at the two guys commenting, both canned a couple times and both known as arrogant, power hungry aholes.

As for as dealing with a GM like Beane, Gruden has sung his praises in multiple pre draft takes.  I dont think either one knows crap about what really happened or how we are ran.

Whomever the HC is will have e some say in the roster, but he wont have the control McDermott did.  I guarantee if he had to do it over again, Terry would never have given sean that much power.

I personally like the traditional structure, coach answers to GM and GM answers to owner.

McD couldn't get it done in 9 years. JA is near 30. roster is pretty weak aside from what, cooks, JA? as you mentioned, Terry Pegula. they can wade through the candidates but will the hire be someone that really wants to come to buffalo and how long before they not only get to the sb, but back to the playoffs even.

myself, I'm not very optimistic right now and it better be a hire that can come in and get it done, pronto. also, Beane? so now that he has rid of McD, will he make the right picks in the draft to build the roster in to a sb contender?

from what he's shown through his tenure so far, I doubt it...

I don’t know after this week’s press conference.  Do you really think top coaching talent want to work under Beane and Pegula?  They blew it horribly this week.  They should’ve kept their mouths shut.  If you guys think the top talent wasnt watching firing the second most successful HC in Vills history after a 12-5 record, and beating a superior talented team (Beane’s fault) in Jax.  That’s worse than the crap team but desperate for a winning culture and team.

We destroyed that for oncoming talent. If I were the new coach, pull a Liam Coen.  He basically told Shad Khan to fore the GM or he’s not coming.  Well, he was fired and they made the playoffs the first year.

Why is Josh about to turn 30 an issue?  We keep him healthy he can play 10 more years. Heck 7 of which at peak form.

I think fans are letting a handful of talking heads sway their opinion.

And Terry Pegula?  Until this week he was reveered among the NFL.

Here is the truth, the media, some fans and many others teams fans have been waiting for ANY chance to try and destroy us / tear us down.

All of a sudden we go from darlings to trash in less than 1 week?  Now Allen is over rated and over hyped? Come on my brothers and sisters,  you are smarter than this. They have all been waiting for 6 years now for this.

And I am glad.

We nail these hiring, we get Josh and the Defense some help I am going to take great joy to give a Stone Cold Steve Austin double barrel middle finger to all those hating on us when we secure the #1 seed and get to the superbowl

Want to see them all lose it on a biblical level?  WIN THE SUPERBOWL!

I do think there is a possibility that you could get Webb/Daboll/Rivers or Webb/Kingsbury/Rivers. You could 100% get an experienced OC in here to back up Webb, depending on your flavor. But yeah I love the idea of Rivers in this building working with Josh.

you really think Beane is going to all of sudden build a roster? what has he done the last 9 years? with the draft and FA? not a hell of a lot and no help for JA. defense? how will the defense that couldn't stop a nose bleed all of a sudden become a force?

I like your enthusiasm but lets be real here. sorry, I don't trust Beane.
