More foolish at least Rivers has coached in HS. Does Fitz strike anyone as a guy who is putting in 18 hr days grinding tape?? Nah he’s got way more balance in his life. Great guy, good commentator, not HC in NFL.

Everyone has a pre-conceived notion that to become a successful HC in the NFL a person requires years of coaching experience.

It's simply not true. Ryan Fitzpatrick knows NFL offenses and Defenses. Excellent leadership abilities. Checks all the boxes. Fitzpatrick would become the most intelligent HC coach that has ever coached in the history of the sport IMO.

If Buffalo is interviewing Philip Rivers then they need to add Ryan Fitzpatrick to the list in my humble opinion. Chan Gailey is the same age as Pete Carol. Gailey would make a great OC for Josh Allens development. Would Gailey come out of retirement for Fitz/Josh? (very intriguing) I think he would...

I somehow don't think Ryan Fitzpatrick is gonna come in here and answer this...

I posted the thread/Topic under Fitzpatricks podcast discussion in hopes of some kind of acknowledgment. 🙏

Probably not my friend...

Provide examples of coaches in the NFL with zero experience who have either been hired or had success. Fitz was also the smartest qb in the league and was an average qb.

It's a Jeff Saturday situation.

He was hired as interim for the colts and went 1-7. One of those losses was notable as the Colts blew a 33 point lead to lose to the Vikings.

That's the list.

I really like Ryan Fitzpatrick as a person and loved him as a Bill for the effort and the heart. He'd do anything to win, kind of like Josh. But despite him being a smart human being globally I always thought his ability to process the game quickly and make reads and fast decisions at the line of scrimmage was among his weakest attributes. I always referred to him as very high real IQ, kind of mediocre football IQ.

The suggestions of hiring a guy that’s never coached anything to take over a team on the precipice of a Super Bowl, tells you a lot about this last week or so. The McDermott reaction was borderline on embarrassing to the fan base. The petition to get him reinstated is humiliating and now people want to hire a guy that’s never has zero coaching experience. On any level. I don’t even really want one if the young Coordinators because they haven’t been there before. We are trying to win the whole thing. We are trying to get better than we were. I want a guy that’s proven they can do it at the highest level. The point is to increase the ability of game day coaching. Not hire a complete unknown

it’s not miles  away from a high school coach or an NFL “passing game coordinator “

Coaching literally nothing? How? Of course it is.

I wouldn’t pick him but there’s nothing in the NFL that Fitz hadn’t seen, schemed against or hasn’t played for or against.

i really don’t give weight to coaching high school.  Sorry

I don’t want a high school coach either. I don’t even want coordinators. I want a guy that’s won a Super Bowl as a HC. I’m not sure why you are bringing this point to me specifically. I don’t want the guys with no experience either but Fitz doesn’t even register as an idea to me.

my point is he isn’t less qualified than Rivers by my estimation
