Ownership is the problem in Miami

Good luck with this

What do you mean? Jeffrey Ross certainly knew the name of both his coach and GM in the press conference yesterday. There is no way he didn’t know their names.🤣

I would have bet anything on another Reid Ferguson blocked punt to lose a game. The lack of blunders in special teams in 2025 was conspicuous. He got wisniewsi coffin kicking kickoffs in two weeks.  Tabor is a great coach.

Why the hell do you guys think we had good special teams?  We lucked out finding prater, but the special teams sucked hard this season.

In 19 games we had a positive EPA on special teams in 5 of them

They were solid in the ATL game and the 2nd new england game, and decent in the Texans game (td return offset by getting pinned back all day for just over 3 EPA).

The hurt is a little vs Jax and were slightly positive vs Denver.  They lost us the Philly game and sucked out loud vs KC.

Beyond that they were negative EPA all over.

Being negative in 14 of 19 games is terrible, particularly when they full on cost us a win (over -8 EPA) vs Philly.  We had near 400 yards of o, and our d played well, but we lost because we were on the wrong side of the field every time we got the ball.

What the hell do you guys base your assessment of the special teams on?

How is that a good thing for them? Lol

We had the kick return leader and All-Pro lock returner?

To a degree you have a point, but isn’t that type of blocking effort supposed to happening on every return?

No. Not at all. There was a review in one game where they talked about how he assigns blocking for returns and then uses Ray Davis as an open field runner. The schemes that I saw on paper were not like other kickoff returns or the historic play of a kickoff return.

What I saw Tabor do is send guys to an area in zone block on coverage. They didn't have the guys go head hunting but instead get to a position on the kickoff return planned and create a wall with their zones. This is why davis was good to read those blocks and make the return.

It was revolutionary. A zone blocking scheme on kickoff return.

When you fire the head coach, you lose the staff. Such is life in sports.

Yes 💯, he trying to pay his mortgage and kids college like the rest of us. The guy can’t wait around for even one more week while staffs are getting built. With no knowledge if he will be retained on the new staff. Even if it’s 50/50 he can’t wait. Good for him. KO returns and coverage was decent. Punt returns not great but punt coverage decent. PK best he could do, two deep good snagging Prater, the 3rd not so good. Overall slightly above average work. Wish him well.

Isnt he still umder contract to us?

It's possible his contract ran out.  But if not, think it's one of these things teams know when a HC is fired likely the new HC will want to replace most of the staff so give permission to everyone to leave if hey wish, but then won't get paid, where if they stick around the new HC may want them and if he doesn't, they then are officially fired and will get their full salary. Think most coaches would rather work than be out of the game for a year and possibly never get rehired. If they take a lower position with less pay the old team is on the hook for the difference too.  If someone does get a job, saves the old team some money too then.

Doesn’t sound  groundbreaking per say, sounds more like that’s what your supposed to be doing from the get go, but that’s just me I guess, 👍
