He's going to be 74 years old. Is he going to give you more than year to year at this point? 2. His assistants at UNC are terrible coaches. His bench of lieutenants are guys that otherwise would be out of work. Not only that, Brandon Beane wants more say when it comes to building the roster and coaching staff, not less. Quote

But if I’m interviewing such a non-serious candidate as Rivers, Belichick better be getting a call as well. I don’t think Rivers is non-serious. Maybe he’s Steve Kerr to McD’s Mark Jackson. Quote
quincy Posted January 23 Posted January 23 The spin for this would be massively negative compared to the benefit of interviewing him in my opinion. The optics of Buffalo interviewing him and not choosing him, with his 8 rings?! Choosing Udinski or Shula or Kubiak over him? Another press field day awaits. If he got the job, he would be a control freak worse than McDermott, his coaching tree is not that great, his son's and girlfriend would be distractions. Would him and Beane co-exist or is that another power struggle waiting to happen? I think he is older than Terry Pegula but maybe they would get along well. 1 Quote

The 24 year old girlfriend is bizarre and he’s been terrible in the 2020s. remember he decided to make his former dc Patricia the playcaller for an entire year. This. He's a .500 coach without Brady and has somehow gotten worse every year for the past decade. The latest stuff is just bizarre and we need to stay away. It would be embarrassing to bring him in and we absolutely can not sign him. 2 Quote

You think the Giants did that with offense in 25? You think Brady was responsible for all those wins? Maybe I am crazy but the results are indisputable - and results are all that matter in this game. Take him in a NY sec... Probably his record since dating Jordon Hudson is what turns people off, along with his age. Pete Carroll was the oldest HC in NFL history last year and Belichick is even older. And seriously, go look at his record in the Hudson Era - it's really bad. 1 Quote

somnus00 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Not going to lie, my traumatized brain thought this was going to be an appeal to interview Mike Leach. Quote
Lionel Hutz Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Pros: 1. arguably one of the best coaches of all time 2. Has a massive chip on his shoulder and wants to prove he can win without Brady 3. He has an axe to grind with the Patriots/Kraft and the rest of the NFL 4. He'd bring in elite coordinators Cons: 1. He'd never want to work under Beane (or any GM) 2. He's too old 3. His girlfriend situation would likely create a distraction/circus 4. He's not a likable guy and Bills fans don't like him I think we missed our opportunity to hire him a few years ago, but I can't lie, I would be a tiny bit excited at the possibility of bringing him in. At this point I just want to win one and don't care how we get there. Quote

Since1981 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 If they were being honest, you’d need to talk to a lot of people—including BB. But (a) I don’t think Pegs/Beane are honest anymore, and (b) egomaniacs don’t like having other egomaniacs around who might challenge them Quote

Becuase gruden was out of the NfL for ten years, sucked for 3 years and then had some email scandal. He’s also a 500 coach besides his one year in Tampa 1 Quote
