Gregg Posted January 23 Posted January 23 The one good about talking to Rivers is Josh gets to "pick the brain" of future HOF QB. Allen could pick up some pointers from Philip since he had a great career in the NFL and knows the QB position. 1 Quote

Anthony Lynn has been involved in the nfl for over 30 years. he is an excellent assistant coach and has ties to kubiak on multiple levels, played for Gary kubiak and Mike Shanahan and coached along side Klint. Lynn has probably known klint his whole life! 1 Quote

It’s strange I could see it because it’s typically football iq limited physical traits vs massive physical traits and less iq but Phil is a high football iq guy imo to the point where I think he likely understands the nuances of the job significantly better. i wouldn’t like hiring either of them for the record haha but I don’t understand the inconsistencies in reactions. If Phil was the qb coach for Sean Payton I’m sure Payton would be blown away too and that’s Webb’s whole resume 😂 Edited January 23 by Generic_Bills_Fan Quote
GunnerBill Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Okay guys tell me this is just "interviewing the best candidates." Bring out my scattergun! 4 Quote

Are they going this just to learn about football? This doesn’t smell good right now. Not sure providing your new HC with intel on possible staff additions is meddling, nor does it indicate that HC will not have power to pick his staff. I do think a component of this is just basic information gathering. Why not pick as many minds as possible? 2 1 1 Quote

HereComesTheReignAgain Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) This is smart and the Bills are clearly interviewing people that they feel could fill out a coaching staff in addition to any head coach candidate. When they hire Klint Kubiak, they will be already have a list of potential staff. They have the time to do this while they wait to formally interview Kubiak. A lot of backups in any sport are generally guys who are well rounded but less physically talented. In order to make up for physiology those guys tend to be a lot more heady about things. Guys with great physiology and a bad noggin don't need to stick around for forever. That's sort of what makes Brady and Manning so special. They were absolutely headier than anybody else ever that the position with great arm talent. 2 Quote
