Scott7975 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I think scheme is part of the reason but just part of it. I believe another part and maybe bigger part is we dont have a true number 1 to take some heat off those guys. If the best guy you have is a #2 or #3 elsewhere then they dont really need to be doubled. They can mostly be manned up. Its easier to defend and also easier to rush the passer when you can do that. Those guys elsewhere had better stats because they played with others that would take the heat off of them. The best guy we have would maybe do ok going against a #2 or a safety or LBer. Here they go against #1 corner and they dont do as well. Quote

That would be awsome if it was 1998 and Todd Collins was the quarterback. McDermott took an all-time great QB talent and built a team offensive philosophy perfectly tailored for Trent Edwards. Quote

His downfield ball is not thought to be really accurate. Obviously he has unreal arm strength but to hit those you need some rainbow throws that drop in the bucket. When Daboll was here, he hit downfield passes all the time. Smoke, Sanders, Gabe. Even Kincaid. They all got hit downfield. Back then he threw them on a frozen rope and his accuracy was fine. It wasn't until he started arcing the ball with air under it that he started missing more often. 1 Quote

Anyways, dude, brahs. We moved on from McDermott because all coaching decisions end with him. All results start and end with McDermott. Now that he's gone, Brady and Babich needs to leave. Brady and Babich will be gone. I think it's customary for the team to retain them just in case the new coach wants to keep them on. That way they can't really go anywhere until that point. Not likely the new coach will want to retain them. Quote

The Bills got a bunch of number 4 WRs and made them 1’s and 2’s. Unsurprisingly, they didn’t get open against number 1 and 2 CBs. Lol, Amari Cooper was out of football 1 day after his last Bills game. Elijah Moore was still on the street after the draft. The Bills released him and he didn’t end up on an active roster. Curtis Samuel is a gadget guy that hasn’t been healthy. Gabe Davis was a street FA. Josh Palmer was the Chargers 4th WR. Diggs couldn’t get down the field any longer by the time Brady got here. He still can’t now. He’s a slot WR that wins with route running. Again, it doesn’t matter because neither Brady, nor these scrub WRs, sans Palmer who they are probably stuck with, will be here. The Bills have the 32nd most talented WR room in the league. No excuses for those scrubs. They suck and won’t be here. This summarizes everything along with Dapper. Quote

Yes our passing game needs an uptick Being able to draft a top WR and having to rely of FA WRs is more of the reason for lack of WR production. Even so we were the 4th rated Offense in the league. Yes we need some WRs and perferably one on a rookie contract. We cannot afford to keep relying on FAs to fill major gaps. Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted January 23 Posted January 23 If the question is, “who is more to blame” let’s take a step back and see what the league thinks. - Joe Brady has interviewed for roughly half of the open HC jobs (and may still get one). - Amari Cooper is out of football. Gabe Davis was out of football. Brandin Cooks was released by the New Orleans Saints. Keon Coleman is a clear bust. Elijah Moore was on the street after the draft and a PS guy after the Bills released him. Josh Palmer was the Chargers 4th. Curtis Samuel is a gadget guy tha hasn’t stayed healthy. Which do you think the NFL thinks was more responsible? They’re interviewing 1 guy for promotions and the others are out of the league or barely in the league. I’m stunned that people can’t see this. So while the Bills were running those guys out there as top 2 WRs, the rest of the league wouldn’t have them in their top 6. 1 Quote

He was never this bad at FSU Maybe they didn't have to go to meetings at FSU. 15 hours ago, JakeFrommStateFarm said: I remember when Josh was a superstar and he put up 400 yards a game with 3 TDs passing and 1 running. Now he passes for 130 yards. Brady must GO !!!! Brady made Josh a MVP. Maybe we run too much but under Daboll we were a one dimensional offense that DCs figured out. Quote

Brady seemed like a clueless bum at times with obvious and predictable plays for long stretches, but would also dial up real back breaking plays on a lot of 4th downs, including (two times on fourth downs) 3 absolutely brilliant hook and ladder plays, all in games we barely lost to really great defenses. Brady either kinda sucks and got bailed hard by kromer and Josh, or he's a brilliant OC who has to not implement his full vision in order to accommodate an over bearing head coach and kinda move over for kromer. The Bills were Number 3 in scoring this year. Imagine if Brady wasn't a "clueless bum." Quote
