and here we go!

I have no issues with pairing Dabs with Josh.

But he would have to hit an absolute grand slam home run with his DC.

He has never gotten along with ANYBODY.  Ever.  Not once.

Nobody likes the guy.  Players and coaches seem to have hated him in NY and he could get along with McDermott here in Buffalo.

They need an offensive minded coach for sure.  Someone Josh trusts.  If that's Daboll so be it,  or some people like Kubiak... that's fine we have no idea if he will be a good HC and leader of men either.

Will we get the hear from Wink Martingale, or will we hear from the Coaching Assistants Daboll abused?

Will they recall the tape of Daboll screaming at Josh Allen on the sideline, or screaming at Tyrod Taylor?

Will they consider his poor emotional regulation in storming into the blue medical tent?

Will they introduce into evidence his record of 20-40-1 as Giants HC?

Hiring Daboll would be the epitome of Billsy or Sabre-ing. I don't want to go back to those days. Put away the rose-colored glasses.

Hey, this board is getting exactly what they have been pounding the table for since 13 seconds.

It's time this board actually finds out what the warning "be careful what you wish for" means.

Since when does “we need a new coach, mcD can’t get it done” translate into “I want and must have Daboll as coach” ?

That’s like complaining about your neighbor for leaving trash in your yard, then when he moves out and the next neighbor takes a dump in your pool, someone says “see, the last guy wasn’t so bad after all”.

At least Sean had success without Allen, all these guys (beane, Brady, Dabol) all

riding the back of Josh Allen

get someone new, who has had success without needing Allen… kubiak

You and others speak as if you are in the lockerroom and meetings.  How do you know people across the board hate him?   Maybe McDermott and his tight assed ways rankled people in the lockerrom here.  We don't really know how these guys are.

He did win coach of the year his first year with the Giants with Daniel Jones as his QB. He worked well with Allen and knows this organization. I am not saying he would be my top choice, but I could see the Bills hiring him as HC.

i ll still hoping it’s a courtesy and not a priority.

additionally maybe some very interesting fodder around what he would’ve done differently etc….

meh

schoen knew him well and liked him

it seemed bills players liked him.

apparently the current staff liked him at least a bit

outside McDermott the “like” factor probably splits on success

Regardless of who they hire as HC, I'd like to see Schwartz back here as DC.

My biggest concern with Dabs is his ability to provide consistency to the org. I don't need McD consistency, but its not hard for me to see Dabs losing control eventually as many coaches do. If the goal is a Super Bowl in the next year or two above concerns over consistency (which it likely is) Dabs is probably one of the better options. Sort of a Doug Pederson deal.

He is emphatically NOT my first choice

But I'm not going to lie, during the season he was pretty high on my list of potential replacement OCs. At the very least he was able to scheme guys open and he knows Josh. I'd be a bit worried about the run game but I am sure Kromer could be convinced to stay and he's probably the one coach we can't find fault with. Make him the OC and have him design the run game.

It's not the sexy pick, but I'd take him over Mike McCarthy in a heartbeat

From Joe Marino

From Joe Marino

What's up, Bills Mafia!? The Bills' first interview requests have been announced, including Brian Daboll, Joe Brady, and Anthony Lynn.

Brady and Daboll were expected; Lynn is a bit of a surprise. Will break these down on the pod.

GO BILLS!

Is the Rooney rule still a thing? That might be the reason for the Lynn request.

Their starting QB that was having a top 10 season prior to breaking his leg went down in week 13 and they were literally starting Phillip Rivers off of the couch.

If anything, how much the Colts sucked after Jones went out reinforces the point.

Perhaps it had a bit to do with the Indy OL compared against the NYG OL rather than the QB.
