Not for nothing, but it's been a little over 24 hours. Is that really disrespectful?   I'm sorry but although I was shocked and sad about the firing, the uproar seems waaaaay over the top.

Maybe they did realize they F'd up and are trying to make amends? No idea.

Maybe people should wait a day or so before going off the deep end.

Damage control at this point.

They likely didn't anticipate the blowback from the fans. Which is ridiculous enough, considering how much heat Beane has been under this season.

Seriously worried about the future direction of this team.

Good reminder that most of the Bills content creators and beat reporters who complained we didn't give him a proper send off didn't actually care about that, and were just looking for reasons to be mad that the team made a move they disagreed with.

Anyways. All the stupid propaganda war drama will go away the minute they announce the new head coach and probably even sooner than that.

Would have been even more eff'd up if it was up and running to follow him out the door... like, we've had this on the shelf just in case.

It’s not disrespectful. They were probably making it the whole time. People are ridiculous to even pretend it was a problem.

You are not going to satisfy the posters (fans) who want to be mad.  NOTHING will change their minds.

I'm not sure if the Bills did this because they're a classy organization, or because they're trying to appease the players and fans who are angry, or a little bit of both.

Speaking as one of the angry fans, it doesn't help.

They did Sean dirty yesterday, but at least they are trying to make it right.

100% of coaches that are hired will be fired some day... unless you coach for Pittsburgh, then you retire in your early 50s... so I guess it's kinda like 60% of the time it works every time.

i'm like 90% convinced all this backlash is because Bills media outlets are embarrassed they ate the 'Beane's fault' cheese all season and now look like morons

It isn't about the hype or tribute video or whatever. It is about them putting out a sloppy statement with spelling mistakes and then them not being willing to put out McDermott's statement on team channels and he had to get that to the fans through the media. After 9 years and all he has done he deserved better on both scores. Tribute video be damned.

Some of you guys take every little thing and put it under a magnifying glass. This is why Social Media is terrible for the brain. If they released it yesterday , see they were going to do it for weeks, they release it today , see their hearing our disappointment .

Orrrrr……they made the decision yesterday, the social media team had the day off after the season and they were told they had to make a tribute video , find all the proper clips in the archives, edit them, get them approved and then run it in probably 12 hours time

It is 100% damage control. No question. So when they have the presser tomorrow they can head off any questions about why they didn't give McDermott a proper send off. To be honest it's almost more insulting to McDermott to hastily throw this together and put it out there the day after he was fired, but whatever they made their token gesture to appease people.

I'm sure Bills PR group found out when we did of the firing no? It takes a bit of time to find the right clips, editing and so forth to put something like above together.  This is the Social media world we live in now unfortunately.
