Honestly if Beane just comes out and gives a respectful ode to Sean and talks about focusing on Super Bowls with Josh Allen, I think a lot more fans will support him and some of the craziness will die down. If I'm media, I'm asking specifics about any expectations from Pegula with Beane. I'd definitely ask the question why not after the 13 seconds game. Edited January 20 by extrahammer 1 3 Quote
Low Positive Posted January 20 Posted January 20 All I read on this board was "fire McClappy/McDumbass/McDefense" for 4 straight years. Now, everyone seems to suddenly love the guy. What gives? 1 11 1 2 4 Quote

D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted January 20 Posted January 20 The Beane Propaganda releases are hilarious. I drafted Josh Allen and Cook, Sean drafted Elam and Coleman. 1 1 Quote

finn Posted January 20 Posted January 20 (edited) 11 minutes ago, fridge said: And why would he squirm? They made multiple in-season attempts to remedy the situation with the leverage they had and it resulted in scoring 30 points in a road playoff game against a 1 seed with a top defense off the bye. You mean despite Beane's failure to remedy the situation with the leverage he had, a situation he and he alone created, the offense managed to score 30 points on a road playoff game, a testament to the players (and coaches?--EDIT) who responded heroically to the mess handed to them by a joke GM. Right? Edited January 20 by finn 2 2 Quote
appoo Posted January 20 Posted January 20 They need to spend like 10 minutes explaining why they gave such a cold shoulder to Sean McDermott. They only JUST sent out a thank you to him. Ridiculous way to treat a man who's been the best thing to happen to the Franchise since Marv retired. This has real consequences for an organization that needs to attract coaches and more importantly retain Josh Allen's Good will. Then Beane has a lot of questions that need answering 2 2 Quote

It's just hard hearing all these things after 8 years of organizational stability. It feels like we're right back to where we started, being the joke of the league and a place no one wants to play. All in the span of less than 48 hours. I will say that McDermott has played this masterfully in the press, and has caught Beane off guard. I don't think he or Pegula can recover in the eyes of the fans. I supported this yesterday because I thought we needed a new voice, but hearing about the internal conflicts between the coaches and the FO makes me think that we are going back to being a joke and waiting for Terry to cede control to his kids. 3 2 1 Quote

Now, everyone seems to suddenly love the guy. What gives? A little over the top, but I agree. A lot of revisionist history. McD consistently didn’t get his team ready to play week in and week out. This inconsistency cost them the one seed and a bye. He is a great human being. A good coach. He turtles up in big moments. Maybe he will learn from his mistakes and have a great career somewhere else, too bad he couldn’t bring home a Lombardi. Beane and Pegula are not dummies. We have no idea what was going on behind the closed doors. There was enough talent on that roster to win 14 or 15 games, have home field, and get the bye. If the players are so sad, they should have focused, prepared, and played better against Miami, Atlanta, and NE at home. Edited January 20 by atlbillsfan1975 2 2 1 Quote
