Nitro Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Don't forget the Bills do not get any comp this year. Another bright note for the Bills fanbase. Quote

Don't think he's worth the round 2 spot especially if we got wr in round 1. too many kickers lol. Also, too high for Bell and don't really want branch. Would rather go Deion Burks over Branch. LOL did we trade Dawkins? What did we get for him? Also, I'm in favor of trading Dawkins. So, not knowing the status of Edwards and McGovern and you want to trade Dawkins as well!!??? 😱 Quote
Bookie Man Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Last 4 teams all had defense that can get pressure with just front 4. Our front 4 is bad, especially pushing the pocket up front. Run D is as equally as bad. I feel like we give up so many long drives because teams convert non stop 3rd downs, most of the time its 3rd and 4 or less. I think DT is the smart pick. Deep WR draft this year, you can still grab some guys in rounds 2-3. I'm saying R1 DT (McDonald, Woods, Hunter) R2 WR( Lane, Brazzell, Bell) 1 Quote
billsfan89 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Hard to say how the draft will shake out given that free agency is not there. Right now I would say the Bills top needs are as followed. Starting Caliber needs WR- Duh OG/C- If the team cannot resign either McGovern or Edwards this becomes a glaring issue. DE- Groot on one side not much else at DE very glaring issue. Safety- Opposite Cole there's a hole at safety LB- Dorian Williams and Bernard fit in a lot of schemes but there will be a need for some reworking here depending on scheme. Depth/Rotational Needs DT- Oliver/Walker/Sanders are a nice trio to start with but DT's are banged up and usually you need 4 in rotation so a lower end depth rotational DT is needed. CB- Benford/Maxwell/Taron are a solid trio but if they don't resign Tre there will be a need to add depth and development here. Safety- Even after a starter is added there's a depth need here too. OG/C- Likely will need depth here even if there's a retaining of Edwards or McGovern. Not much needed QB- I assume the Bills will bring Mitch back and I think they are set. RB- Cook is a stud, Ray Davis solid back up and return man, Ty is a quality third down back, may or may not cut Ty but not much movement needed. TE- I think ultimately they will workout a new contract on a reduced cap hit with Knox and Kincaid will play out the last year of his rookie deal while Hawes is also in the fold. OT- If Van Denmark is resigned I think the Bills are confident in Dawkins and Brown as starters with VDM and Grable as the backups. I likely think the top draft picks will be. Round 1- DE - Likely think that even after they sign a competent vet at DE they will take a pass rusher to get a new DC a foundational weapon for the D-line. Round 2- WR- I think this pick is traded for a WR or they draft a WR here if they trade a different pick. Round 3- LB- I think they are able to find a starter at safety opposite Cole, safeties aren't crazy expensive. LB will be reshaped likely both with a veteran acquisition and pick in round 3 or 4. Round 4- OL- Kromer is gone and at a minimum Edwards or McGovern are out so building up depth and development after hitting earlier needs happens in round 4. Round 5- S/CB- Secondary depth gets addressed a little bit here. Round 7- BPA- RB/OT/OL/DT all in play for later round picks. 1 Quote
Rocbillsfan1 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I’m not as worried about the line as some. Kind of hoping they can resign McGovern and most likely let Edwards walk. I gotta believe Anderson could fill this role. It seems like wherever they put him he plays well and is great at run blocking. I’d be ok with playing with grable or van de mark for a year to see if one of them can solidly the position. Would only move on from Dawkins if I could get a solid player or second round pick in return. 1 Quote

DJB Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Lemon and KC are mostly a slot guys. Boston is a Keon Coleman clone . KC also has bad hands and runs routes mostly behind the LOS. The only two WR worth drafting in round 1 are Tate and Tyson and one is likely going top 5 while the other has injuries. I’ve been saying this for two years. It’s a horrible draft to be targeting a WR and we should be trying to draft one in 27. 1 Quote

He should be going into his 3rd year and when we drafted him he was said to be the best pure center in the draft (just not versatile to play guard). Is it reasonable for the Bills to want to try him at center? Has he looked bad? I don’t see anyone talking about him. Quote

Unfortunately, there aren't any WR1s and the WRs I chose, especially Malachi Fields, are going to be drafted much higher. I knew the machine was selling low there, so I kept that one in my back pocket. I am definitely in the WR room is terrible crowd, but the strength of this draft is defense and this draft aligned with what would match up with our needs if we wanted to transtion seemlessly on that side of the ball to the new system. Lance is actually pick #100, btw. Also, note that I prefaced the whole thing with the stipulation that the draft presumed bringing in a quality vet WR. This does not mean the usual Beane get some mid level player and project achievement considerably above past performance. I would try to trade for Jefferson, for instance, which means in reality the first round pick is likely gone. The uncertainty there is apparently if JJ is traded, because of Minnesota cap considerations, it is likely to be after 6/1, so it might be starting with a 2027 first. That, however, is a longshot. Beane might circle back and try to get Waddle, for example. Edited February 1 by Dr. Who 1 Quote
