Other than the rumor yesterday about Klint Kubiak?  Obviously Brady will get an interview.  A minority will have to be interviewed. Either in-house or very likely Flores.

Also is it true we can't interview Kubiak now until the season ends for them?? That would be a long time if they go to SB. Wasn't there a rule where you could interview if you got to the SB in the week between? Did they get rid of that? My concern would be the ability to hit the ground running if they decide they want him. Would be easier if he basically has his staff in place and just waiting. Especially concerned if he doesn't have a DC lined up.

Klint Kubiak (+125)

Brian Daboll (+265)

Davis Webb (+500)

Joe Brady (+550)

Updated odds, untill the official requests and visits happen there's just going to be speculation

In the aftermath of the McD firing … I find it laughable that one of the sentiments is that we need an offensive minded HC to pair with JA17.

Does anyone not realize that last season we scored more points than anyone in the league, with crap receivers, in the “every body eats” year… and this year we were once again one of the highest scoring teams in the league … who just put up 30 points per game, on the road, against excellent defenses, in the playoffs, with crap receivers …. And the same OC both years?!?!?!

We need an emotionally cold CEO Head Coach, whose Defenses will not constantly wilt at the wrong time in the playoffs … that Josh can feel comfortable with and trust and not have to constantly feel he needs to play the perfect game out of his ass to win

I don't understand this fascination with Klint Kubiak, or some other "up and coming offensive genius"

Why wouldn’t you want to absolutely maximize a strength?  Your argument doesn’t make a lot of sense.

At this point it could also point to the Rams, who have 3 excellent names to watch.

But it's been just over 24 hours. Right now they seem more focused on damage control rather than what comes next. The next 12-24 hours will likely be the Bills reaching out and scheduling interviews with some base line guys and guys that get us Rooney compliant. Remember, it's only outside interviews in person (NOT on zoom/FaceTime) that count for Rooney Rules.

Because we already have the #1 rushing attack in the league, score 30 points per game, and just need a little bit better at receiver.  We don't need to uproot the whole system on that side of the ball to score a few more points.  We need a more reliable and more flexible defense.  I was saying it all year ... "Complementary Football" was the code word for the year to cover up the deficiencies in McD's antiquated defensive philosophy, that he was obsessed with.  It was more important to him to win with HIS defense, then to build and play defense to WIN.  It wasn't the offense that let us down in the biggest moments, it was the defense and it's outdated philosophy.  We couldn't get over the hump, because McD couldn't get past himself, and his Ego.  His whole coaching philosophy was married to his beloved defense, which always caved in the playoffs

They've had the ball to win 3 of 6 years in the playoffs and lost the game.   It's not about scoring against the Jets and Dolphins.  It's about scoring when it matters the most and part of that is getting your quarterback to stop beating himself.  Being able to set the line correctly against the blitz.  Helping when it counts.

Yes ... but ask yourself why we keep ending up in those situations ...   How much water can one person continue to be expected to carry ALL the time

I am assuming they will interview Rams passing game guy Nate Scheelhaase, who is another bright young legit prospect who also satisfies the Rooney Rule.

You don't do this kind of thing without having a backchannel open and you know that Kubiak is going to take the job. That wouldn't shock me at all.

Klint kubiak has more experience and is the same exact age as say, Mike Mcdonald who is now the head coach in Seattle.

Kubiak has earned his shot.  This is a perfect fit for him.  The idea here is to lighten the load for allen and create a passing game that takes advantage of his abilities while not making him put himself in harms way over and over.  The shanahan passing scheme is just what the doctor ordered.

meanwhile, he can hire a defensive coordinator who can come in and focus on his defense and demand results.  I would love pairing kubiak with leonhard at DC...don't think that will happen though.

The organization should be about maximizing your best player/unit and that is the offense here and Allen.   Making the head coach an offensive guy makes all the sense in the world.

I agree.  A coach is a coach. I think people want to unleash Josh Allen, not restrain him.  People may also believe that a good oc minded head coach, can relinquish the need to stubbornly have a failed philosophy on defense, by hiring the right defensive coordinator.  The bills need a new philosophy from a different coaching tree. Mcvay\Shanahan line maybe?  This complimentary football nonsense needed to go. The whole philosophy was dysfunctional.  Small players and then wondering why everyone is injured later on in the season. Especially in the secondary. Number one pass defense in regular season. Totally exposed year in and out come playoff time.

If the Bills had any semblance of good receivers, this wouldn't be a conversation.  Beane unfortunately was forced to "rob Peter to pay Paul".  Only so many resources to play with, and with the Defense being the achilles heel ... they had to invest on that side of the ball AGAIN ... only to have it falter in the biggest moments AGAIN

It's an organizational philisophical issue.  McD had the most power, Terry enabled it, and Beane's job was to buy the groceries.  But when you commit too long to something that is flawed, there is only so many ingredients available that have a chance to fit.  In McDs world, everything had to fit into a neat box, or it didn't work.  It was HIS defense or BUST.  And it just continued to bust

Kubiak should 100% get a job in this cycle. Unless he brings the Seattle DC with him, I am assuming he brings Joe Woods from the Raiders. Both he and his father have an extensive history with Woods and he is pretty experienced.

yea you are preaching to the choir here.  Kubiak will help them upgrade the wr position.  It is a must. They all know.

a new defensive scheme is going to be put in place obviously and there is going to be a lot of change on that side of the ball.  Let a new staff be dedicated to that.
