I did appreciate what he did here. Our organization was a total joke and he brought it back to respectability. He cleaned out the stink of the Rex Ryan circus and helped build a professional football organization. He'll always be the man that broke the drought.

I like Sean. As a coach. The way he represented himself while here and the organization. He did an outstanding job making this franchise respectable again. The job he did after the Damar season keeping the guys playing at a high level was amazing. Should have gotten CoY. I don't think we have ever had a coach that wanted to win for the city as much as him.

His time here comes to a close in another year he did a good job coaching the players he had. He will find success someplace else. Maybe never a Super Bowl, but he can get another team pointed in that direction like he did here.  Best of luck to him and his family. And to all the coaches on his staff that will be unemployed in the coming days/weeks.

his guys (and he has his guys) absolutely loved him, lots of players have great things to say about him.  he seems like a genuinely nice guy.

The team was a dumpster fire for over a decade before he showed up.

He created a winning locker room culture that took a team that was a basement dweller and made them a perennial Playoff team with aspirations for a Super Bowl.

It is unfortunate that he couldn't get this team all the way to the top, but he's certainly the best coach this team has seen since Marv Levy......and I wish him success in the future.....as long as he doesn't end up on the Dolphins.

I will always appreciate him. First off he’s just a great man and professional leader. On the football side he’s a very good coach and after 17 years of no playoffs was the one who ended the drought. Bills were a consistent SB contender with  McDermott. Thank you coach!

Thank you Coach! I appreciate everything he brought to this organization and wish we could have won a ring with him at the helm.

We know he will land on his feet-

I really hope the Bills don't push this narrative it was all on him and Beane is not at fault. Not the way to do things at this time.

I always appreciated that McDermott put a tough, well prepared team onto the field for each and every game.

Thanks to you, coach. His mantra of being 1 Percent better every day is something I think of personally and professionally. For breaking the drought I could never be against him and I support him now. Best of luck personally and professionally coach mcdermott.

I’m really not surprised by the move as you only get so many chances in the NFL. McDermott is a very solid coach but unfortunately the window closed.

With that said, he bled Buffalo and you could tell in his core he wanted nothing more than to get a SB in Buffalo. He’s one of the best coaches in franchise history, created a winning culture and got the franchise turned around. Just couldn’t lead them to where expectations are!

I hope he lands on his feet and I have  nothing but respect for the job he did and how he carried himself.  I wish him and his entire family the very best!

So look.. Thank you McD for getting us out of the gutters.. I truly believe he did that.. So for that I thank him.. That being said he was good enough to not be good enough. last horrible decision? Not kneeling the ball at the end of the first half...

Thank you Sean!

Thank you for ending the drought. Thank you for that fantastic New Year's Eve when all Bills fans around the world celebrated together like we won the Super Bowl, even though we only just made the playoffs. That was a special moment in our Bills' fandom.

Thank you for embracing Buffalo and western New York, and for fighting and battling for us and with us. And for making yourself and your family a true part of the community.

Thank you for bringing a family atmosphere to the team, locker room, and fanbase. Thank you for making the fans feel connected to the team and vise versa.

Thank you for being part of drafting and developing Josh Allen.

Thank you for all of the wins and the exciting games. Thank you for bringing back to us a winning culture and tradition.

Thank you for 5 division titles and reaching the playoffs 8 of 9 years.

Thank you for guiding the team through some very rough waters (like after Damar's collapse on the field, tough losses, blizzards, etc.).

Thank you for being a man of character and a man of love. Thank you for being a true leader.

Thank you for working so hard and putting so much blood, sweat, and tears into our team.

But most importantly, as Bob Hope used to sing, "Thanks for the memories."

Good Luck and all my best to you and your family Coach! You will always hold a special place in the hearts of Bills fans.

McDermott is a very good coach, he changed the culture of this organization and really made me believe again as a Bills fan. He is by far one of the best coaches in the teams history if not arguably the best. Everything runs its course and it is possible that a good coach might not be the right coach. But I will be dammed if I am going to let Bills fans trash talk McDermott as though he is some bad coach who just got lucky. No he turned this whole thing around but someone else just needs to get them over the top.

Thanks coach

McDermott helped bring this franchise back from the dead and we were awesome in the regular season.

In sudden death games I think he used to panic, especially the last few minutes of the game.

I expect him to be hired by the Ravens.

I thought of that, but do you think Lamar would be thrilled?  Lamar just won a battle between him and the coach.  I can't see pounding the table for Mcdermott to come in.

I'll say he is a good coach. .  May have even won a title here under difference circumstances.  He won't be unemployed for very long.

Heck of a coach. He will get another franchise out of the basement and turn them into a contender.
