TFBillsfan Posted January 19 Posted January 19 (edited) I’m really not surprised by the move as you only get so many chances in the NFL. McDermott is a very solid coach but unfortunately the window closed. With that said, he bled Buffalo and you could tell in his core he wanted nothing more than to get a SB in Buffalo. He’s one of the best coaches in franchise history, created a winning culture and got the franchise turned around. Just couldn’t lead them to where expectations are! I hope he lands on his feet and I have nothing but respect for the job he did and how he carried himself. I wish him and his entire family the very best! Gregg Posted January 19 Posted January 19 It wouldn't surprise me to see McDermott stay in the AFCE and become the Dolphins next HC 1 1 1 Quote
harmonkillebrew Posted January 19 Posted January 19 McDermott is a good coach and will catch on immediately and turn around some lowly franchise, like he did for us. That said, we all needed a change and someone to help Josh and the team take the next step. It became obvious McDermott was not that guy 2 2 Quote
Chicagobills Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Absolutely big fan of Sean. Unfortunately he couldn't get the job done and its time for change. 4 Quote

Winnebago Man Posted January 19 Posted January 19 He seems like a good man and he did a lot to turn the culture of the Bills around and for that, he deserves credit and appreciation. I am sure he will land on his feet. I wish he and his family the very best. 1 Quote
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Huge fan and defender. High character and players always played hard for him. I think he actually deserved a fresh start, and I can see him having a ton of success elsewhere. 5 1 Quote
BigdaddyinOrlando Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Thank you coach for your class and dignity! Forever grateful for making the Bills relevant again! Good luck and god bless! Will always be a fan of you! 1 Quote
SF Bills Fan Posted January 19 Posted January 19 He brought a lot of success to the team. He pulled us out of the dark years. He will go up in the wall right away. A lot of people calling for his dismissal may not like who we get. 1 Quote
JohnBonhamRocks Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Heck yeah! Took us from wandering aimlessly to the top of the league. I’ll clap for that. 1 1 Quote
Disgusted ills fan Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I salute him for bringing stability, morale, and regular season success to a franchise that badly needed it. However, just like a classic fighter plane from WWII, he had reached his ceiling years ago and could not take us to the promised land. He was indeed the Marvin Lewis of Marty Schottenheimers. Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Sean did an incredible job creating the culture. He turned this place from the drought to a power. He deserves a ton of respect for that. He carried the ball from their own 10, 85 yards down the field. He just wasn’t the guy to take it into the end zone. 5 Quote
Wizard Posted January 19 Posted January 19 By all accounts, a nice guy. He loves being around the players. He brought this team to relevance (largely because of Josh), but he showed for about 5-6 straight years he is Marty Schotteinheimer. This is not a bad thing unless you need to lead this team and city to a title. I hope he lands another gig in the NFC and helps another team become more relevant. 1 Quote

Brandon Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I've been frustrated with the results of the last two or three years and have been in favor of a change, but this past year, it's become quite apparent to me that McDermott is not the real problem. He's a good football coach. I hope he wins it all with his next team. 1 1 Quote
BillMafia716ix Posted January 19 Posted January 19 McDermott will be hired asap. Probably to Pittsburgh or Cleveland. Teams with already strong defense. 1 Quote
