this is all just so strange.  is there something we just don't know yet?

My best guesses are, Terry doesn’t want to do the HC hiring alone. Or he already knows he is going to promote Joe Brady and Brady doesn’t have another GM to work with in mind.

It has to be McDermott had an outsized role in drafting and roster.  Two names to keep in mind are Poona Ford and Tim Settle.  Among the players that were good before and after and nothing in Buffalo.  I've been harping on the defensive scheme for years.

But the WGR receiver episode surely has to have consequences!

TEs are fine.  One gets injured for stretches.  Dawkins is insanely over-rated.  The O-line wasn't stout when it counted this weekend.  There is the regular season and there are the playoffs.

Given they were playing that defense and had a runner go over 100 and Josh nearly threw for 300 and they score 30 they showed fine.  Not sure what you are expecting against that defense.

I get it from Pegula's viewpoint. who is gonna find the replacement if you get rid of Beane? Maybe he'll double cross him after the coaching search

Now that Beane is the most powerful football man in the Bills organization let's hope he is better at picking HC's then he is with his 1st round draft picks. This will be Beane's first time hiring a HC. Terry will obviously have to approve of the hire, but my guess is he will go with who Beane wants to hire.

Pure speculation, but I wonder if pegula/beane/whoever had a candidate in mind before the firing. On the flip side, McDermott going off after the game about the refs and defending buffalo all kinda makes sense. He obviously knew this could happen (him being fired)

I wonder if it is possible that Beane will be let go after the search is conducted? "Remain and help lead the search for a new coach" does not necessarily mean he will stay-on as GM (although that would certainly be atypical...)

Brady as coach with Daboll back as OC?

I could maybe get on board with the right DC

Sounds like a terrible idea to me. This team and offense could use some fresh ideas from new faces.

I don’t love his offense but he is proven, can scheme people open at crucial times of games for scores.

He could still be fired after the draft like Whaley was bring in Tom Telesco for the all- St Francis led Buffalo Bills

Pegula fires Beane after he drafts 6 busts and 2 mediocre players? How on brand.

Hopefully this is the Whaley situation where they hire Kubiak and then Teasley comes later.

If it isn't, just another terrible decision.  Beane has been one of the worst GMs for a good 3 years now.
