I knew the Pats were back when Kraft was shown at our SNF game and we were subsequently penalized 11 times.

Season was “over” that night and I knew it.

11 penalties.  A holding on the first offensive play.  That’s how you rig to get close to the outcome you want.

Pick a reason.  Kraft.  The league wants NE to be relevant.  Both.  Buffalo couldn’t wrap up the division by the end of October.

The league sells drama.

My favorite part of the broadcast of the Bears game was in OT when the Bears got the ball back, they cut to Melissa Stark for a “report” that was basically how great Caleb Williams is in times like these and how he’s made steps or some prop him up “analysis” bc they thought he was about to go to the NFCCG.

So they wanted the viewers to really “know” how good Caleb is.

3 plays later - INT - Rams go back the other way to win.

They can’t guarantee outcomes.  But they can push.  And they can sell narratives no different than any media outlet.
