I want to preface this thread with a confession. When we signed Bosa I was AMPED. Really thought he could be exactly what this defense needed as long as he stayed healthy. Which for the most part, he shockingly did. And yes, he did make a few solid plays. Caused some nice fumbles.

But what a huge disappointment he turned out to be IMO. He could not get home enough for sacks. And he did nothing against the run all year. Was a net negative against the rush actually. Looked to me he went rogue and rushed the passer only too many times.

Now I concede that he wasn't brought in to play the run. But all season he would slip inside and allow big runs by the QB. And I don't think I've ever seen anyone fooled so often by RPOs than this guy. And, like yesterday, even when he has a run sniffed out he can't tackle a RB.

Hopefully, he is one and done here. He stayed healthy enough and put some plays on tape that I hope someone gives him a huge contract in FA. I just hope it's not us. I'll gladly take the 5th round comp pick.

Very hot and cold football player. When he popped he was a difference maker but beyond that he wasn’t a huge factor and wasn’t a good run defender

It was worth of shot. But he didn’t do anything for us in either playoff game.

When he did get pressure (which was not in the playoffs) the QB often broke through his one-arm tackle attempt and escaped wide.

Honestly, all things considered, I’d rather play Epenesa and get his tipped balls and run stop than deal with Bosa’s run liability and lack of finishing on his pressures.

He’s not washed, but he’s very close. We won’t bring him back. But we do need somebody.

I said then that this team would get to the playoffs and have a hard time because of the WRs… but he could push us over *if* he worked out.

he did not work out.

spending his and palmers hit on a better wr, even in a trade, would’ve been much better

Word.  Big fat zero in the playoffs.  Had a chance to make himself another 13M+ with a strong postseason.  Not sure I want him back.

They invested everything into this dline this off-season and they either all got hurt or were just not good.

It's disturbing how much they put into it, and to get nothing

It's extremely concerning

Yep sorely disappointed. This was the reason we signed him. He was non-existent. Back to the drawing board. Hopefully with a new GM

Well, TBH, he was not supposed to be playing 75% of the snaps......totally agree on the run support...his production seemed to go way downhill after he hurt his wrist.

True, the plan probably wasn't for him to play as much. But he didn't exactly do anything with the extra snaps either.

I really do think AJE is brought back. He's not a great player by any means but he does make some splash plays. As a starter I would pass. But he's decent enough as depth.

If Epenesa set the edge better than you …then I don’t want anything to do with you

Epenesa is sneaky good.

It's kind of hard to judge him, playing on a defense that had so many injuries...of course his production would suffer.  He had moments, good and bad.  I wouldn't seay he was a bust though.  If the Bills approach this off-season as a rebuild, he should be gone.  But if it's a re-tool, I would bring him back, for the right price.  There have been far, far worse free agent signings for them.

Not at setting the edge- he’s often out of position- that’s where I was going with it

but he does in fact make an awesome pick or timely tipped pass

I would bring him back for $10M but no more. Only because he has a void year cap hit of $7.2M so it would only really cost us $2.8M. And based on the poor tape he put out there down the stretch I think there's a decent chance we could get him back at that number. Bosa did not perform nearly as well as I'd hoped especially in the playoffs but he gives us a baseline edge rusher skill set that we don't otherwise have on the roster.
