The defense as underman as they were this year was constantly saving the offenses ass this year. McDermott did a helluva job this year. If anybody were to get fired it would be Beane but that’s not going to happen either.

Time to roll the sleeves up again and find a WR1 and WR2 next year. Trade whatever and do what you have to do to make it happen.

It is not just about yesterday's game. It is the continued slog season after season when the team looks like it is pushing a boulder up a hill. We should be dictating and dominating on offense. And yet we dont.

Imo, we dont want "up and coming " coordinators because they are much more likely to fail. On the other hand, there are few choices because there are a LOT of vacancies currently.
I really think there needs to be not only a HC change but a GM change also. With all the resources thrown at the defense, we continue to underwhelm year after year. We do not look anywhere close to the Texans defense. And havent given the weapons to our biggest advantage.
Yesterday Josh Allen made a lot of mistakes so he isnt free of blame for yesterday's loss. But game after game, he is leaned on to cover up for the other shortcomings in the team. It has to wear him down through the season.

We need a "closer" HC who can come in for 3-4 years and win us 1-2 superbowls. I dont care about a young one to shepherd the team for the next decade.

The Texans defense was built on a DE drafted 3rd overall and a prime free agent added in Danielle Hunter. Sadly the Bills don't have a chance at this level talent unless make a massive trade or luck into a great pass rusher in the draft.

If they decide to move on from him it had better be today. I doubt if it will be.

However, I do think Beane will be shown the door and they will elevate either Gaine or Gray to GM.

IMHO that would be terrible...

I don't want anyone from this Scouting staff to remain... Pro or College... They are the definition of mediocre... Maybe worse... I have massive issues with their overall talent evaluation, especially at the top of their boards... Anyone who can look at prospects like Elam, Pickens and Watson in a pack and not only rank Elam ahead, but give up a 4th to trade up for him I want no part of... Any staff that can look at Coleman and McConkey on tape and think that Coleman will be the better NFL WR... Even the better NFL X WR... I want no part of... Those...IMHO...are layup evaluations... I give them credit for the Benford's and Shakir's... But blind squirrels get nuts too... Hell I was here on TBD in 2023 touting Puka Nacua as a potential Day 2 pick for the Bills...He slides and they go COMPLETELY off the board for Justin Shorter in the 5th with Nacua still freaking available... They are constantly being forced to make moves to make up for past mistakes...

Get rid of all these idiots...B-)

I've said it since 13 seconds.....  We will never win anything of consequence with McDermott as head coach.  He's proven time and time again he is not up for big moments and fails in every critical situation.  He is the driving force behind wasting Josh Allen's talents.  He wants to run a conservative, ball control offense that runs the ball and throws it when necessary.  He wants low event games.  When Josh Allen is your QB, this is the exact opposite of the style of football you should be wanting to play.  Couple that with his defense crumbling at the end of games, it's just not a great recipe for winning.

But it makes absolutely no difference what I think, or many others think.  The fact is, Pegula LOVES McDermott and he will be our head coach probably until he decides himself he doesn't want to be.  It's Marvin Lewis.  It's Mike Tolin and John Harbaugh without the Super Bowl win.  He will be here for the entirety of Allen's career and, unfortunately, we'll probably still be sitting here without a Super Bowl when Allen hangs it up.

The only way we have a chance to win is if McDermott abandons his defensive minded approach and basically says, "Screw It......We're going to try to blow teams off the field and force other teams to keep up....." which is what they should be doing with a generational talent like Allen.  Invest everything into the offense and the weapons around Allen.  Let him go put up 40+ a game and then try to get just enough stops to win game 45-27 or something like that.  But that is not the kind of football he wants to play.

I don’t expect him to go anywhere. I think he did a pretty decent job this year. He 100% should be fired. They’ve gone FAR too long with status quo. The results are the same every year with new excuses. It’s time for someone else to see if they can take the next step. It’s Dwayne Casey to Nick Nurse. It’s Tony Dungy to Jon Gruden. This is Sean’s ceiling and we can’t afford to give it more years to confirm that. The window is closing

Unless a change is made, the window is closed. The regime and players will not be able to recover from this.

I think McDermott did a great job this year, I really do. But I think it’s time to move on

You sound like you missed those years of not making the playoffs?

Not at all. McDermott is a good coach. I don’t think anyone denies that. I no longer think he’s the right coach for this moment

This has been my argument against McDermott since the 13s game. If we poured as much into the offense trying to fix the issues as we have the defense specifically the PASS rush Allen would have WRs like hurts, burrow,Lawrence etc! This roster has been built backwards to what the trends of today’s NFL are! McDermott approach is 20 yrs too late

Everyone keeps saying there is no upgrade and I don’t agree. I think most any average hc can duplicate what McDermott has done with a qb like Josh Allen and many good to great minds could exceed it

Anyone specific you can name that you think can exceed what McD has done to this point? I really have no idea

You can’t elevate from within. The whole GM team and scouts have the same flawed talent evaluation and philosophies. Need totally new outlooks in the bldg. Rams and Eagles underlings.

Anyone who voted to keep McDermott is happy just to go to homecoming.

Anyone who voted to fire McDermott is the one to go to homecoming and take home the queen.

It's insane to think that being complacent about not winning a Super Bowl is not much different than going to the grocery store and buying the first Apple you pick up with a bruise because it's still an apple still eat most of it.

See this is where your thinking has flaws! McDermott looks way better bc of who he has at QB! Allen has saved beans and McDermott ls jobs for at least 5 seasons now

Honestly, if Tomlin could be swayed here I would do that. He consistently could take a QB less team above .500 and make the playoffs and a team with a franchise QB (Big Ben) and win Super Bowls.  I really don't know but I do know we need a change overall or reset.

It really is all in Pegula's corner now.

We are at the point where winning the division is 50/50. Let alone winning the conference. They had five easy division wins between 2020-2024. They could not take advantage. So now we have: Denver, NE, Jags, & Texans to worry about. In addition to the usual suspects.

I am indifferent on firing McDermott. I won't be upset if he returns. I won't shed a tear if he is canned. Beane is the one who needs to be accountable. He dug his own grave with that ridiculous rant last spring.

That is literal insanity. I can’t believe people watch the same thing and see it so differently. The defense SUCKS. We score 30 points a game. We scored 30 points against the best defense in the league yesterday. A defense that is constantly saving their own offense. The broncos can’t score on anyone. How in the world is 30 points against Bo Nix not enough? If you aren’t winning a game where you came back from 2 scores down, took the lead, blew it with 55 seconds left and then still tied it again….against Bo Nix! You aren’t going to win one.

It sounds like Tomlin might be in some hot water off the field. And I’m pretty sure the Steelers still own his rights so I think you’d have to trade for him
