Yep, I have been off McD for years. He can’t win it all. He was a bonehead today on the first 3 and 11 when they had Nix reeling and went to the “Leslie Zone” and let them back get the first down. McD knows it’s getting old, that’s why the puff piece on the Athletic. He is trying to get as much positive PR for when he is looking for a new job. He is on the same trajectory at Reed was in Philly. Quote

They really just need one. They need a #1 WR. Shakir and Kincaid are already good complementary pieces and Cook is obviously a weapon. Quote

loveorhatembillsfan4life Posted January 18 Posted January 18 The narrative by the media that Josh needs to put on the cape for this team to have a chance every week is organizational failure. He is the Qb, and has to bear the burden. He missed some big plays today, no argument on that. Seeing his postgame, makes me me worry that Everything Buffalo is on this guy’s shoulders and it’s becoming too much. Meanwhile Beane will just yell at us fools. I can’t see why we run this back with Beane and Mcd again. We have hit a wall. 3 Quote

The roster is so void of talent that losing Jordan Poyer in 2026 was devastating. On top of that, the cap is an absolute mess, if Allen is sad now just wait and watch. if we couldn’t do it with 50m more in cap from a rookie qb contract (see the rest of the afc teams left) and with our full unpoached list of scouts, coordinators, etc… why next year? just spinning the wheel enough times and we must win? This was probably his worst playoff game ever. nah he put up 30 have them a 4th quarter 4 pt lead with about 2 mins left and hit a castoff wr with a over the shoulder rainbow for what should have been the game sealing fg Thats with 5 Turnovers we still had a chance Imagine if Sean fielded a playoff defense and we had real WR's and real coordinators not McDermott puppets 1 Quote
Murdox Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) The larger question is are we starting to see a pattern in Allen's mediocre games and can we learn from them? Allen was actually having a pretty decent first half against a very good defense until the INT, and then the fumble before halftime ended up being critical. Things kind of went off the rails there for a bit for him until he recovered a bit midway through the third quarter. But, I do notice that we are struggling against teams that have good man defenses - Texans, Falcons, Eagles, Broncos, and even teams like the Pats who can mix and match defenses but still have a strong man coverage alignment when they need it. Better WRs would help, but I think the playcalling needs to adjust better to these situations. As for the defense, it needs to improve against the run, and we need to be able to pressure opposing QBs better. If Allen just had the Texans D, we would be winning the SB. Also in general McD definitely has some say on who he thinks Beane should draft and sign whereas Beane doesn’t have anything to do with how McD develops and deploys said players. 1 Quote

Chicagobills Posted January 18 Posted January 18 This team isn’t serious about winning and surrounding Josh with the talent he needs on offense to win it all. We have the worst WR room in the entire NFL. He is trapped into playing a short pass game. If he wants to win a ring he needs to leave Buffalo. I hate to say it but it’s true 1 1 Quote

He didn’t have his best game, but they scored 30. This year, defense gives up 33. Last season defense gives up 30+ to a KC team that hadn’t scored 30 all season. Season before, the ONLY reason the Bills were even it it was because Allen was nearly perfect slow rolling the offense with a defense that was getting LIT UP all game, and the Bass shanks a makeable FG after Dawkins but Jones in Allen’s lap. At what point in your mind is it on the defense to not make him play a PERFECT ####### GAME in order for this team to win in the playoffs. 1 Quote
Brandon Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I don't think he will. I also wouldn't blame him if he did. Quote
Thrivefourfive Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Let’s consider: when a quarterback has four turnovers, in the playoffs, on the road, against a top 3 defense, they usually don’t complete 25 passes, throw for 283 yds and 3 TDs, and rush for another 66 yds, and get their team a four point lead with minutes left, and then get them into overtime. Score 30 points. Usually, those QBs cry DURING the game. Quote
