He was a bonehead today on the first 3 and 11 when they had Nix reeling and went to the “Leslie Zone” and let them back get the first down. McD knows it’s getting old, that’s why the puff piece on the Athletic. He is trying to get as much positive PR for when he is looking for a new job. He is on the same trajectory at Reed was in Philly. Like I said abf, McDermott has too much power. @BADOLBILZ told us before the season started that where were to be seeded did matter alot in this and previous years. He also told us that our wide receiver group was sub-par. Of course, he was right as usual so (imo) it comes down to: who do we blame. Beane, McDermott, or both? I lean towards blaming McDermott the most but again, this is jmo. Quote

The other team had the ball then. And as usual gives up a TD and with 55 SECONDS left Josh brings us down to force OT 1 Quote

This year, defense gives up 33. Last season defense gives up 30+ to a KC team that hadn’t scored 30 all season. Season before, the ONLY reason the Bills were even it it was because Allen was nearly perfect slow rolling the offense with a defense that was getting LIT UP all game, and the Bass shanks a makeable FG after Dawkins but Jones in Allen’s lap. At what point in your mind is it on the defense to not make him play a PERFECT ####### GAME in order for this team to win in the playoffs. Dude they were showing statistics all game for playoffs and turnovers We had one turnover that we created we gave up four Any team that has four turnovers in an NFL game is 90 plus percent like leader lose the game Josh technically had three of them He could be the best player in the world and the reason we were close.. but if he didn't cough the ball up the bills win Cook had one turnover he had three turnovers.. our two best players had four turnovers That's an unobjective fact Quote
MrEpsYtown Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I think I said this last year, and they found a way. I just don’t know how you recover from this. Like either Josh is done and confidence shattered or he’s gonna destroy the league next year. But, Sean Payton put his mediocre qb, who played horrible, in great situations throughout the game, easy reads etc etc. Josh needs someone to do that for him. I feel for the guy. It actually is his fault this time, but it’s still the result of the situation that he is in. 3 Quote

I agree and fwiw, I don't think that McDermott is a terrible field general. I just think that his focus is on defense (primarily corners) and he is far less concerned about getting weapons for the best player in the NFL. It's rather sickening tbh. Shakir and Kincaid are already good complementary pieces and Cook is obviously a weapon. Exactly. The depth isn’t as huge an issue. They need one very good-great, complete WR. Quote
ToGoGo Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Josh needs to accept it’s rigged. He’s the greatest player I’ve ever seen. Who knows what’s really going on in that bizarro world NFL playoffs. 2 1 1 Quote

GunnerBill Posted January 18 Posted January 18 13 minutes ago, tigerthelion said: So what? Every other elite quarteback in history had off days and their team still won. I am done expecting perfection from him. Get some blue chip talent on the team and get him over the hump. Even today, with his errors, I am not going to harp on the negative. Guys like Big Ben and Eli Manning have won multiple times and have thrown plenty of bad passes along the way. He needs more help, but he needs to play better than he did today. This isn't like the other losses. If he doesn't make the big mistakes today the Bills win. Now if Cooks catches the ball they win too. If they are able to make a stop on D at the end they win. But Josh is as culpable as the other bits this time. Quote

Despite his mistakes today he did manage to get the lead for us in the 4th quarter. Why cant the defense ever make a game changing play in a big spot. Plenty of blame to go all around. They did……they forced a punt in OT 1 Quote

HamptonBillsfan Posted January 18 Posted January 18 He gives everything and wants to win for the team and the fans. It’s a credit to his greatness that he can have 5 TOS and be in position to win if another player makes a play. Cooks and Hardman could have given us the game. Josh had a bad game but sometimes you would think another player is a difference maker. Josh feels responsible for every loss because he gets the credit for the wins. Quote

That decision to randomly pitch the ball away and create an unnecessary turnover in Denver territory before the half turned out to be the game I defend a lot of his shortcomings but he still tends to make a lot of questionable decisions in crucial moments. That could be attributed to coaching (in some capacity) even if the decisions made ultimately fall on the player. 1 1 Quote

Any other QB and five TOs would be the immediate killer. Josh can have them against the offense and still put up 30 against a very good defensive team. 1 Quote
