colin Posted January 18 Posted January 18 The narrative on Allen is gonna be Philip rivers (who had shottenheimer) and MCD is shotty 1 1 Quote
Andrew Son Posted January 18 Posted January 18 He's simply not capable of playing a clean 4 game stretch required in a single elimination tournament. Quote

But he is the only reason why the bills scored 30 against a top 3 defence in the NFL on the road. Cooks catch the damn ball, and it's game over and Josh goes down as a hero Getting tired of this argument. Almost every team in the league is dependent on the good play of their QB. Of course the Bills aren't anything without Allen. Just like the Ravens are nothing without Lamar Jackson, the Chargers are nothing without Justin Herbert, etc. That doesn't mean he automatically gets absolved for all the mistakes he makes. Allen has become a playoff choker. Not to the level of those other guys. But it's time he starts sharing blame among the fans. 1 Quote
T.E. Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I hate to say it, but it really does seem like the lights get too bright for him sometimes. Gets jittery in too many big moments. Quote
SoCal Deek Posted January 18 Posted January 18 He fell on his sword today. Everyone needs to face it. 1 Quote
Lionel Hutz Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Yes but we wouldn’t be here without him. It’s fine to criticize him but just remember he is the team. This roster has been horribly constructed and McD will never have what it takes to get us over the line. Theres too much weight on his shoulders. Quote
Victory Formation Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Some folks don't have that killer instinct in their blood... I think its on McD and Beane at this point.. We need to clean house.. This team needs more killers on it.. 1 1 Quote

Big Turk Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Too many times they have to beat the refs and the other team in these big games 1 1 Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted January 18 Posted January 18 3 minutes ago, mjt328 said: That's going to be the narrative this offseason. And they are absolutely right. Just like every playoff loss we've had under Sean McDermott, there were other huge problems. Drops. Penalties. Turnovers. No Pass Rush. Etc. But this is now the THIRD straight postseason loss where Josh Allen had the ball in his hands, with a chance to put together the game winning drive. And in all three of those games, he failed. In fact, he had THREE chances in this game alone. He missed Khalil Shakir low, forcing the first field goal (putting us up 4 instead of 8). He missed Dawson Knox long, forcing us to kick a 50-yard FG to reach overtime. And then he missed multiple receivers on the overtime drive, before throwing up a prayer on 3rd Down which was intercepted. Allen can have the greatest postseason stats of all-time, and it doesn't matter. When he's had the chance to cement his legacy in moments like Tom Brady, Joe Montana and Patrick Mahomes... he's fallen short. His legacy will be this until he wins one. That is a TEAM thing but the media and fans dont get that. Quote
QCity Posted January 18 Posted January 18 7 minutes ago, PepeSilvia said: Forget about his 4 turnovers, which were all awful. There were plays to be had and he was off all day. He missed Knox for a TD and the last drive before overtime He missed missed Hardman in overtime, which would’ve surely put them in fg range. You need your best players to be at their best in big moments, and they weren’t He had opportunity after opportunity and didn’t get it done. This is on him and the defense failing in crunch time, again. The homers are going to gnash their teeth over this take, but you're right. You can't turn the ball over 4 times. Quote
davefan66 Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Yeah, he made some crud plays. Refs screwed us in the end. Quote
Roundybout Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) He had a poor game but he’s also the only reason we clawed back into it after our garbage defensive backs gave up the easiest touchdown throws you can have. Listen to him on WGR now, he’s mentally destroyed. I hate Brandon Beane. Edited January 18 by Roundybout 1 Quote

Andrew Son Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Just now, thewookie1 said: Turnover at the end of the 1st half was plain idiotic, as was the interception in the 3rd. Can't blame him for getting strip sacked from behind before he can even finish his 5 step drop. Cooks caught the ball and had 2 hands on the ball and went to the ground and they ruled it an interception The Knox was an overthrow but he did have a Bronco within a foot of his arm as he threw it and he had to avoid a turnover/sack Hardman was at fault for his drop, instead of flattening he went further and Allen was throwing to the intended flatter destination Also need to add the short hop to Shakir. Simply doesn't come up clutch in winning time when it matter. Had the ball in his hands for winning time the last three postseasons now. Yet the excuses will persist. 1 1 Quote
Bills Bud Posted January 18 Posted January 18 McDermott can’t win the big one. He got out coached again, on the last plays we went all out with the d and Payton one that threw the deep balls and got the calls 1 Quote
Buddy Hix Posted January 18 Posted January 18 He’s got too much on his plate because the roster sucks Quote
