Care to expand on the whole bicep/tricep relationship? I know they work in unison but maybe the push/pull has more too it than I’m assuming?

Sure. We can do an exercise. Go to your wall and extender your arm to it with your hand facing outward of your body and fingers wide. The other can stay against the side of your body. Lean into the wall breaking your arm from being straight and bending at the elbow. Do this slowly, no need to rush but you can go faster if you want.

You'll feel your biceps and chest engage as you control tension with your triceps to maintain your movement, balance, and stability. Your biceps and pectoral muscle help leverage the arm as it extends. The arm extends in blocking and defeating the blocks. The multifidus and erector spinae help control your back through the thoracic region as your lats engage at the full contraction of your bicep and your tricep is no longer functioning. At this point you're bicep is maintaining the structural integrity of the arm because the tricep is fully stretched out.

Another way to put it is to look at an alligator or crocodile. We all know they can close their jaws with great strengths but you or I could walk up and hold their mouth closed. Because they don't have the muscles open their mouth as strongly as they do to close it creates an imbalance. If you had I'll triceps in the biceps you would only be able to extend your arm but not be able to mechanically close it. And no I'm not picking on alligators or crocodiles because nature pretty much has them as the perfect animal.

Does this help?  The body is amazing and everything can be thought of as an ex. If you're right foot hurts there's probably a problem in your left hip. If your back is sore your hamstrings are weak, your quads are tight...

I was an alligator in a previous life. Got made into a handbag and a pair of boots. Still makes me mad.

Another way to possibly describe this thinking of a rubber band wrapped around your fingers.  If one side of the rubber band is cut then the other side will pull closed only one way. Does that make sense? If there's only strength in One direction then you can't move.

Fair enough.  Do you think McD will put a guy out there who can’t play to his abilities?  In a playoff game?  I don’t.

no one knows if Oliver right now is able to play to his abilities. But McD absolutely would put him out there to find out-especially in a playoff game. Come on!—LOTS at stake here…

Was driving listening to Schopp and Bulldog and the news came out that Oliver and Samuel are coming back.

Schopp immediately focused on Curtis Samuel for some reason.  Then the guest brought the convo back to how big Oliver’s return can be.  Schopp decided to focus on if Oliver can help the Bills run Defense.

The guest said “isn’t Oliver more of a penetrating pass rush player?”

Literally thought I was losing my mind listening to this back and forth until Bulldog finally jumped and said Oliver’s return could be massive for the pass rush.

Most bizarre few minutes of radio I’ve ever heard.

Might you have meant to say, “would not”?

fwiw, Oliver does make an absolute ****ton of strong plays vs the run.

It's just that nobody ever notices them.

I get that, but unless he’s a full go, I can’t imagine he’s playing a ton of early downs.

...indeed he does, Derrick Henry noticed.

Not sure I agree with your police work, Lou.

The Bills have undoubtedly been practicing their silent count... therefore... essentially making his ears, vestigial sensory organs.

I googled what this meant and I quote

Quote

Vestigial sensory organs are sensory structures (like parts of eyes or ears) that have lost their original, significant function through evolution, often becoming reduced or repurposed, but hinting at a fully functional structure in ancestral organisms, providing evidence for evolution

that  quote is one mouthful of word salad but I get the picture

lol

If there’s one thing I think I know about McD, it’s that he won’t knowingly put his players at risk of further injury, or play someone he thinks will be a liability on the field.  I guess I’m just saying that if Ed is active, it’s because they truly believe he can be effective.

The need the bodies at WR so Samuel is coming back just in time. Ed as a situational pass rusher absorbing Mathis's snaps is a positive as well!

I believe Joe Marino said that Mathis didn’t play last week a ton and was pulled after Jax had a successful drive running the ball.
