I've never noticed them at the same time and play. I think they may be the same person.

Which would then actually make Curtis Elijah Samuel Moore a spy for us!!!

Go Bills!

You just made my Friday.   I was waiting and hoping for this announcement.

Our group of available WRs doesn't look bad now - no worse than it has all season.  Shakir and Cooks are the best two, and they're healthy, and we've got some decent guys for the other spot.

And Ed might not fully be in football shape but I'm thinking he'll look good in his reps.

The problem with Curtis Samuel is that his ear drums will probably rupture due to the mile high elevation and he won’t be available once the game starts.

Not sure I agree with your police work, Lou.

The Bills have undoubtedly been practicing their silent count... therefore... essentially making his ears, vestigial sensory organs.

When Dalton Kincaid and Ed Oliver both play in the same game the Bills are 2-0 and average 40 points per game.

Baltimore and Carolina.

Nothing else needs to be said.

If I were the Bills, I’m using Curtis Samuel in the Ty Johnson (looks like he’s out) role tomorrow. That’s him at his best anyways. He’s more explosive coming out of the backfield. He’s a guy that will be more involved in the game plan than people expect.

Hamlin is just victim to a numbers game. You had to activate Samuel given the injuries and Ed is the most likely player to be a game-wrecker. So then outside of that you have to cut someone and the only real cut candidates are:

- Dane Jackson - No with Hairston out

- Spector - Not until Bernard is healthy

- Mathis - Not until Oliver proves he's healthy

- Latu - They clearly love him and with Kincaid banged up they probably want to keep a blocking TE on the roster especially with Shavers and Davis hurt

- Ogunjobi - Probably only around because he's a veteran. I expect he's inactive again tomorrow

- Savage - Makes no sense to cut a safety for a safety when you're already light at safety.

True, Hamlin's a victim of the numbers game, but still interesting that a guy who started 14 games for us last season hasn't started any this season and only played in five.

One ex-NFLer (maybe Chris Long?) said he'd have Hamlin on the roster for a playoff game over Hancock because of the greater experience.

I'm not looking at healed I'm looking at cardio. Late in the game a healthy, healed, and rested Oliver is going to be more important than anything else.

Getting him in early when he will wear out high altitude just coming back will wear him down faster.

If we get to later in the game and it's 4th and we see we don't need him in limit him.

Why would he have a cardio issue if his injuries didn’t restrict him from doing so?  Upper body strength and weight…maybe, but cardio wouldn’t be my concern.

Yup.

Played both RB and WR during his 3 years at Ohio State... he had 172 rushes and 107 receptions.

Curtis Samuel out of the backfield is a great idea.

He did also have a knee procedure while recovering from the arm injury so it’s safe to assume that he hasn’t been gassing wind sprints for theee months.

That said, being in football shape is entirely different than just lung capacity. You have to factor in muscular fatigue, on top of any issues with cardio. For a DT, this is a major factor in how effective he can be over the course of the game.

As @Mikie2times suggested, I think he’ll be limited to 3rd downs early but may be ramped up down the stretch.

Fine. Watch this.

Rushing back a tricep injury on a player like Oliver is dangerous. A finesse mover like Oliver needs full range of motion and ability to use his whole body.

Playing OL you learn to have no separation of yourself and a defender so they can't move. Playing DL you learn that you need to be able to move off of the body of the blocker. This is done with hips in body leverage/balance with the arm being the lever and the hips being the pivot point. To get physics inserted, the legs are the load and the head is the effort. Where the head goes the body goes - a wrestling term.

Without the ability to use an extended arm for a lever your hips can't be used to pivot, means you can't support your load, which means you get no effort.

Did you stay at a Holliday inn express last night ?

Meniscus, for one.

And real game time experience is a lot different than cardio. NFL radio had a guy on who knows the Bills and said Oliver has been training like a warrior, however.

Samuel owes this team like 5 touchdowns minimum

and about 450 yards receiving.

It's OK if splits the TDs over and yardage over the next 3 games

Agree it’s interesting. I feel very comfortable in saying: if the Bills thought Hamlin was their best option to fill in for Poyer (OR their best depth option if they plan on Hancock playing full time), they would’ve made room and activated him today.

That they don’t think so means either they feel really good about the guys they have active, or just that Hamlin is still super rusty and hasn’t been his normal self in practice.

Either way, I have a good feeling about our safety play tomorrow. I feel like this is the sort of thing the coaching staff consistently gets right. At least at this position, anyway.

He also ended up having knee surgery in Dec - apparently injured it while he was rehabbing the bicep

Care to expand on the whole bicep/tricep relationship? I know they work in unison but maybe the push/pull has more too it than I’m assuming?
