Good thing it was his bicep. All good!

New to physiology? Or football? Or was this serious?

To use your tricep you must be able to effectively use your bicep.  Imagine playing with broom stick arms. Oliver needs the bicep to use the tricep.

I can further explain if serious.

A tricep is a massive issue for an undersized DT that plays like Oliver.

Between that and the inevitable conditioning issues, I wouldn't even let him see the field before halftime if there's a way to do that without hurting the rest of the DT unit.

Thankfully his tricep is ok and it was his bicep he injured

I do think we should be cautious with Ed I don’t want to see him re injure himself.

Brought off the IR doesn’t mean he will play.   Not saying he will or won’t, but it’s possible he’s not even active tomorrow.

I’m really surprised Hamlin wasn’t activated.   They must be good with Lewis or Hancock.   I really hope Taron can stay healthy, or safety depth will be in trouble real quick.

See above.

Imagine jogging with a torn hamstring when the quad handles most of the work.

Fair enough.  Do you think McD will put a guy out there who can’t play to his abilities?  In a playoff game?  I don’t.

I doubtful he can play to his abilities, but he may be able to play above Mathis and Ogunjobi's abilities. Which is the real issue, imo.

First game back, at altitude, trying to extend that arm with power to get off blocks and create space to work with?

That is a huge ask from a guy in his first game coming off surgery.

Doh!

Fixed and thank you.

Wow, good news on the injury front.  Who knew this was even possible?

I wrote something like that on another thread.   Brady has a secret package for Samuel last used in Carolina.  Denver won't know what hit them.

With Ty Johnson hurt this might be something

Aye. It was a joke. But there's always a lot of comedy in the truth.

Samuel has 151 offensive snaps this year.

They wouldn't activate him if they weren't planning on playing him.

I'm not expecting much from Ed. He hasn't played ball in a lot of months and likely won't be at full power. Tempered expectations for sure. But, like Samuel, if we can get just 1 big play from each of them it would be huge.

A few 3rd down penetrations to force Bo off the spot, or into bad throws/incompletions is fine with me...

I'm sure he will be used mostly in key situations to ease him back in.

They are not going to activate 2 players to take up roster spots right before a game if they weren't going to play.

They've done this a bunch of times and every time the player is active, last time a few weeks ago with Hardman.

Best part is there's almost no footage on Samuel as a Bills WR this year. Denver isn't ready.

You mean other than Patrick Surtain referring to him as "Tail lights" because that's all he saw last year chasing him 60 yards the to end zone?

Hamlin is just victim to a numbers game. You had to activate Samuel given the injuries and Ed is the most likely player to be a game-wrecker. So then outside of that you have to cut someone and the only real cut candidates are:

- Dane Jackson - No with Hairston out

- Spector - Not until Bernard is healthy

- Mathis - Not until Oliver proves he's healthy

- Latu - They clearly love him and with Kincaid banged up they probably want to keep a blocking TE on the roster especially with Shavers and Davis hurt

- Ogunjobi - Probably only around because he's a veteran. I expect he's inactive again tomorrow

- Savage - Makes no sense to cut a safety for a safety when you're already light at safety.

I’m excited to read through all of these comments on the drive home. I’m super excited big Ed is back and I think he’s gonna be clutch. And I’m very excited that Hamlin did not get activated. Good job McD
