Someone else needs to try because this isn’t working. Fire Beane, McDermott, And Babbich. Brady is going to end up with an HC job. Give all of your money to Curt Cignetti and ask him to come win. Its very simple to me, if you can not do it with the best football player to ever play, we need to find someone that can 1 Quote
Spiderweb Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Be real. Can't fire the refs who beat us today. Not up to us.... McBean didn't do that... Quote
harryS Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Beane and McDermott are horrible for each, and these lovers need to be broken up. (If we can only fire one, my preference is Beane).  Beane isn't good enough with personnel and good signings to surround Josh with an excellent roster. Then, McDermott can't get the 7/10 roster to overachieve to a 10/10 level because he's not consistent enough throughout the regular season to get the 1 seed; there are always "lulls." (Denver is overachieving because they were able to get the 1 seed, homefield advantage, and a bye week, and all the positive effects that come from those things). Another way to get your roster to overachieve is to be a master at game theory / game management. McD has improved at that but he's nowhere near the top coaches yet.  This relationship can't continue because it will never work. One guy can't build a great roster. The other guy can't get that roster to overachieve.  We need to break them up. If we can't fire both, then fire Beane. 1 Quote
Virgil Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Time to start over.  McD had a great wild card game and a decent game today, but he also made enough errors to lose.  He also put us on the road in the game with how we played the Dolphins, Pats, Falcons, and Texans.   He’s done a great job, but we need more now.  Beane should def be gone as this roster failed in spectacular fashion to end the season again.  No pass rush, no receivers, and depth ended biting us in the butt.  1 Quote

McD is a good coach for the regular season but he isn’t going to get us to a championship. Every playoff ends with his  defense giving up too many points. I don’t think he will be gone though due to being able to blame the other guy….  I don’t think Beane is a good GM. Only the Colts GM has been tenured longer without his team getting to a Super Bowl. He will be pointed to by McDermott as the reason the team keeps failing - not enough good draft picks/FAs. Hopefully we can turnaround the roster this offseason, but realistically it probably takes until 2027 to rid the bad contracts and do a proper rebuild. Quote
Governor Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I thank McD for his service. He brought tons of the most exciting and incredible back and forth games to us, but in a way, that’s the problem. Most of these games shouldn’t be close. You should be able to put teams away and he’s never done that. Quote
