MJS Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Confirmation that Samuel was just stashed on IR and not really all that injured. As soon as we lose Gabe Davis, he is healthy enough to come back, haha. 1 Quote

muppy Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I googled to find specifics on what this 21 day window actually means in the fine print. from AI Quote Key Implications of the 21-Day Window Return to Practice: Both players are medically cleared to participate in team practices and drills. This allows the coaching staff to assess their readiness for game action. Roster Status (Temporary): While practicing, they remain on IR, which is crucial as their team can temporarily use those two extra roster spots for other players. Activation Decision: The team has 21 days from the date the window was opened to activate them to the 53-man roster. This can happen at any point during the window, even this week, if they are deemed ready. Season-Ending IR (Alternative): If the 21-day window expires and the players are not activated for any reason (e.g., a setback in recovery), they must remain on season-ending injured reserve for the remainder of the season. Eligibility: Players on IR must miss a minimum of four games before they are eligible for this return process, a requirement Oliver and Samuel have presumably met. 1 2 Quote
MJS Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I bet Samuel is ready to go now. Throw him out there even if he isn't in perfect football shape. We have nothing to lose. Ed Oliver, though, is probably a next week deal. If they advance, I bet we see him in the championship game. Maybe he isn't 100% yet, but give him two weeks to ramp up and see what we can get from him to potentially get us to the superbowl. Maybe he can be on a pitch count, or something. Come on the field on important downs and in the 4th quarter. 1 Quote
billsfan_34 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Samuel needs to be shown the door. Availability is everything and this kid cannot play through anything. Joshua Palmer is next up as well. 1 1 Quote
That's No Moon Posted January 12 Posted January 12 40 minutes ago, Pete said: Im guessing Bills were playing IR gymnastics with Samuel, allowing him to get in has fresh and in great shape. There is not a lot of film of Samuel. Curtis caught 2 playoff TDs last year. Curtis has speed, which our WR core sorely lacks. My guess is Curtis is miraculously healed, and catches a TD on Saturday. Can he set Surtain ablaze again? Quote

Big Blitz Posted January 12 Posted January 12 If Ed can play 10 snaps he’s 10000 percent playing this week. Mathis dressed and played 6 snaps. Ed can take those if he’s at least 80 percent Ed. 1 2 Quote

GASabresIUFan Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I guess it wi be nice to have one or both back next game but I’m not sure how effective either will be. If either returns, my guess is Samuel has more impact. Quote

NeverOutNick Posted January 12 Posted January 12 1 hour ago, Success said: BIG I'm still bullish on Samuel. I have always felt like he's never been fully healthy for us, and maybe this time on IR has gotten him there. I think he can at least give us the production we got from Gabe, but hopefully much more. He’s not an actual WR. He’s a gadget player so you won’t get Gabe’s downfield route running. He’s a warm body so hopefully it works but I’m expecting this to be a James Cook game with Kincaid coming through big. Cooks has to deal with surtain. Coleman needs to keep catching those 50/50 balls and get open when Josh is in trouble. I am stoked that Cowboy Ed may be back though 40 minutes ago, WotAGuy said: So, do I understand this right? I get this thought and premise, but no disrespect, there is just no way IMO they are considering these things right now. I would bet everything I own that if the staff and FO believes Samuel is our best on field option, they won't care about anything else and he will be active. Cap Space is a next year consideration, we are 2 wins away from a SB birth, everything they do including cap decisions is about making and winning a SB. They are not about to lessen their chances by not using Samuel if he is their best option available. Edited January 12 by Alphadawg7 3 8 Quote
