Bosa looks as though the game has passed him by. I mean this figuratively and literally. Often times he is caught looking in the run game, or totally cashed himself out of the pass rush with an out of control stunt.

I don’t think the snap counts are our yet but it seemed like McDermott was going towards Epinessa and using Bosa in spot duty on 3rd downs.

He is lumbering Neanderthal but he is ours - and I hope he can muster up enough of his former greatness in moments where it matters most.

I don’t know about that, but there were times where he was bad yesterday.

He looked gassed late in the game, but the talent and the heart is still obviously there.

I'm putting together multiple things here, but looking at the Jets game, our backups are NFL caliber players... and they were obviously hyped to play- and kicked the ever-loving snot out of the Jets.  *****, we suck early anyways, so let 'em roll and save some gas for the # 1's later in the game.

seems weird... or nuts, but it's just a reaction to how our team plays- save the firepower for the second half.

(Talking about defense here, we need the #1 offense full game)

He was just gassed, dude - he did some good things yesterday.

He has been boom or bust all year. He has made some big plays here and there so not a total bust of a signing but his down in down out consistency is non-existent and a lot of the time he looks like he is dogging it tbh.

That said, if he can find a couple of those big moments in the rest of this run that might be the difference, who knows?

Snaps - defensive front - Rousseau 45; Walker 41; Daquan 39; Bosa 31; AJE 23; Sanders 17; Andre Jones 13; Mathis 6.  56 total defensive snaps.

Of course he’s not Garrett, Maxx, parsons or watt, but he’s not just an afterthought to opposing offenses, he’s given max effort and made some important plays over the course of the season. All it takes is one play at a critical moment and he’ll be forever loved by mafia

The intent was to keep him on a pitch count, but Injuries ( shocking I know)  derailed that.

Now that we are in the playoffs, they need to really use him as intended, a pass rush specialist

I can be critical of Bosa as much as anyone but what’s up with Epinesa? Hes gotta be gone next year, right?

What's up with him in what way? He is a rotational defensive end and makes the occasional play. That's about the best case scenario for a non-starting edge rusher.

His snap count is way less than Bosa.

Because Bosa is the starter. Epinesa rotates in. What's the confusion?

I’m not the slightest bit confused. I’m simply making the point that Bosa is outperforming a much younger player and yet Bosa is the title of this thread.

Youth doesn't make anyone a better player. Epinesa is a depth edge rusher. That's just what he is.
