In *that moment*, it felt like a long time, but we won the game, and that is all that matters.

But doesn't it matter how we look in victory?

Can’t believe it’s Wednesday, three days after a Bills victory, but yet there’s some goofballs talking about this still.

If the Jags came back and won we'd be approaching the first 10,000 page thread ever going into next June.

I actually though the point Joe Brady made at his presser this week, and that was his biggest concern about taking a knee in the moment was a good one - if you try and kneel Josh - especially if you try and "forward kneel" so as not to lose yards and the Jags decide to play defense instead of let you score, you are putting Josh Allen's head and neck right at the height where you 300lb plus defensive linemen crashing down.

I hadn't even thought of that but sounds like it was a consideration for the staff in the moment.

If the Jags were leading by 6 (instead of 4), can we agree that you must forward dive to shave time off the clock?  Because a FG would then win it for Jax if they get the ball back.

Or is it always the right decision to score on 1st down?

I don't think "is it always the right decision to score on 1st down?" Is the right question.

To me the thing I would be absolute on is you can never take a knee and move back. Could you try and move forward but stop short of the goalline? Yes. They could have done that Sunday. It is just not that easy to accomplish because you have so little room to work with. It is the risk of something going wrong on that play vs scoring and playing defense and honestly I think that is pretty 50/50 and would be up by 4 or up by 6.

Taking a knee however would have been wrong 100% of the time.

This is correct. Intentionally going backwards would have been a huge mistake. Massively changes the likelihood of success going forward.

Live, I was saying I’d run Cook up the gut. My thinking was that it wouldn’t lose yardage, it wouldn’t hurt if he got stuffed for no gain, and I was comfortable with a score if he got in. Obviously in hindsight, the Jags would’ve let Cook score in the scenario - but I was too amped up to think about it from their perspective.

Oh man how DUMB.  Tre white  saved McDermotts job. !!!!

Dude I can’t believe our coaches are so dumb.  To not call a kneel down there?

on the half yard line, 1 minute left, 3 time outs, their kicker can kick 80 yarders, and :13 seconds.

how how how do you make that mistake!?!?!?

you TAKE A KNEE.  KILL :40 seconds.  THEN you have 3 plays with 3 TOs to use to get the TD with lat most, :15 seconds left.   DUH DUH DUH DUH

we won but that dumb decision could easily cost us the game AND, will likely cost us next week!

gosh the complete lack of awareness and feel for how a game is going just drives me NUTS!!!!!

Tell us you suck at coaching, without saying you suck at coaching.

Josh was pretty banged up by the end. Why anyone would think subjecting him to more hits would be ok, is just asinine.

Well, guess Tre only saved his job for one week.  I still agree we should have killed clock here.  Yea there’s a chance of a false start or holding, but there was a greater chance Jax would come back with 1:05 still on the clock.
