transplantbillsfan Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I know it isn't as simple as this because we've gotten big, strong guys like Joey Bosa and Josh with injuries this year, but I would like to see our draft and personell departments change the "type" they try to acquire as players. Words like "twitch," "dynamic," "crafty," "intelligent," or "explosive" need to be lower on the list, especially when they're tied in with players who are leaner in terms of build. These are always the players across the league who seem to get injured more, no matter how elite they are in those categories. Malik Nabers, Micah Parsons, Tre White, Matt Milano, Terrell Bernard, Travis Hunter, Ceedee Lamb, Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson etc. Heck even as far as the Bills are concerned Ed Oliver probably falls into this category in relation to other players at his position. Words I want to see associated with any players we bring in from now on are "strong," "physical," "plays with an edge," "durable," "hyper-competitive," etc. I would love it if you could get all those words together and put them into one player as we bring them in, but there aren't too many Megatrons/Josh Allens/Ja'marr Chases/Kyle Hamiltons/Derrick Henrys out there, are there? Regardless, with news this morning that our biggest FA investment in the offseason (Palmer) has been ruled out of this game and our biggest investment last year (Samuel) MIA, I would like to see a different "type" in terms of players we bring in. One example might honestly be bringing back Edmunds and playing him over Bernard at MLB if Shaq isn't around. I'm just sick of the injuries and I know we can blame training staff, but maybe it's the type of players we bring in. By the way, of course I know all players can and do get injured, it just seems one type is more prone to missing games than the other. 4 2 3 Quote

For the last couple of drafts no metric has me roll my eyes harder than RAS score. I understand what they measure and where they are useful. But high RAS guys are guys that typically take a bit to develop. Just get me football players. Guys that may not have all the nifty bells and whistles and just flat out can play ball. 5 1 1 Quote

Wizard Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I also think a 5-year ban on bringing any former Carolina Panther player in would help also. 1 2 4 1 Quote

One I would like to see omitted from any player discussion going forward is character and attitude. Quote

WotAGuy Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I don’t know….give me players that “don’t know their worth”. Sick of being up against the cap with Josh and a bunch of Joe Six Packs. Some of these guys should be working second jobs in the offseason the way Knute Rockne intended. 1 1 Quote

The Bills lack speed. The Bills lack explosiveness. The Bills are big and physical. They just aren’t athletic enough. 4 1 Quote
