This is a great idea. Somewhat related - I loved when the Chicago Cubs brought him out at Wrigley when they finally made it back to the Series because he was a Cubs fan who was at the last World Series game at Wrigley Field like 70 years prior. 1 Quote

The man will be 101 years old when the new stadium is to be christened. He lives in Chicago. How many 101 year olds do you know traversing airports, flying across the country, and attending football games? Marv's travelling to Buffalo days have been over for years now. I don't see that changing at 101 - new building or not. Edited January 10 by BillsFanForever19 Quote
zow2 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 100 years, my gosh. Think about all the stuff that was not even invented yet when Marv was born. To this day his memory seems incredible and he articulates his thoughts so well. Quote

Well, my father is 101 years old, flies across the country, lives part of the year on his own in Rochester, cuts the lawn when in Rochester (sometimes- most of the time neighbors cut before he does), and although there's no chance he'd go to a game, he did go to training camp with me last summer. This is the first time that at the end of practice he accepted a golf cart ride back to the bus. 2024 camp he refused the ride. I said in a different thread that the only game my father ever went to was the first regular season game ever at Rich Stadium against the the Jets in 1973. My parents and I went to the game. I was 13 and no idea why I went instead of either of my older brothers. Last week I went to the last regular season game with my son. Anyway, yes that would be quite cool if Marv opens the new stadium and pens the season on Thursday night next season! 1 1 Quote

But that's not normal behavior for someone of that age. For 101 - that's like superhuman. Most 90+ people, let alone past 100 are not remotely that spry. Quote

I can’t this time. 619. I went to the 2017 game where we lost 10-3. It was fine, as we finally had hope we could be great again. Tailgating in the Z lot was incredible. I felt like I was in OP. 1 Quote

And I do realize every single day how fortunate I am to still have my father at 101 being not just alive but mentally excellent and physically in good shape. Quote
